What about the power of laughter?

My boyfriend is 25 years younger than me and we have been living together for over 6 months. He's just turned 19 and I am about to turn 44.

I am really teenie person with red dreadlocks...kinda funky... so if we go together to buy cigarettes, I get carded a lot.

One day I got carded and I showed my ID, then she wanted to see his ID. He didn't have it with him. So I paused...looked at her and fumbled out.... he's my son. (I have 2 son's...17 & 24 yrs) She looked back at the ID, looked at us again and then sold us the cigarettes. When we got outside we were laughing and decided that we should have kissed in front of her once the cigarettes were purchased. So, we were being silly... but it made us laugh.

So we find other ways to laugh at things so we don't take life soooo serious. I am making a t-shirt that says, "19 + 43 = 69... Suck at Math... Great at Life".

Also we joke with our friends that my boyfriend promises not ever to call me "His Old Lady".

We would love some more material... or funny stories. I think being silly makes life more fun!

I think it's a good sign that you can have a laugh like that.

I OW that I was seeing was horrified when some gas jockey asked if i was her son. I was a little shocked that he asked, but afterwards we thought we should have kissed deep-tongue style in front of him too.

I'm going through some troubles with ex roomies...they had taken some of my stuff into storage. I took my honey with me to go pick it up. They showed up with her father. While I was gathering my stuff and getting it out of storage, her father and my sweetie were down stairs.

When I was done getting my things, my honey told me her father asked if he was my father. that's the worst possible thing he could have asked. He was very embarrassed, he said no and that he was my friend.

Later that night we went to Dave and Busters, and laughed it off...however, I still felt his uncomfort in his laugh.

:)

I'm glad you posted. It's good to know that there are women who think 19 isn't too young for an OW/YM relation ship.

So there's still hope!!!:D

Tonight I had my first date ever with an OW (we met here, actually... her handle is kyrianne). It was also my first internet date, it was a karaoke bar so I had to perform for the bar, and her son (one year younger than me) was the bouncer there. I was a bit edgy most of the night, to say the least. I remember one part of the night the DJ (who knew my date) called her from the stage and asked her to send her boy down. At first I looked around and pointed to myself... I thought she was talking about me. It turned out she was actually talking about my date's son. We laughed. I relaxed. I think the date went better towards the end when I started to relax a bit more.

I am so happy you had your 1st date with kyrianne! Funny things do happen so it is best just to laugh as well.

My secretary buzzed me and said "Barbara, your son is here." Another employee rushed out of her office and said... no no no that's her husband! The poor secretary was so flustered when she came back to apologize, she could barely stammer out the words! My husband and I just laughed our you know what off!
