Another LDR... no longer. :)Sienna 01-08-2008, 01:42 PM (moved to long distance relationships forum) Sienna 01-08-2008, 01:44 PM Well, after 2 years of being in an ldr with my ym (he lives in Northern Ireland, I live in Alabama), his visa has been approved and he'll be moving here on the 18th of this month FOR GOOD. :bunny_4: Although I haven't posted consistently for a long while, Ageless and this forum in particular, have gotten me through some very difficult times. So THANK YOU. And for those of you wondering if it can EVER possibly work... Yes. Yes it can. Rozie 01-08-2008, 01:48 PM Wow!! Awesome. We've all been wondering about you two. Tell us more! SoraNoYume 01-08-2008, 01:56 PM Congratulations! Blessings for a bright future of togetherness! love sora Angel 01-08-2008, 01:59 PM Fantastic news!!!! Thank you for sharing it with us. I'm so happy for you both and can't wait to read your post saying he is here! YAY!!! YAY!!! YAY!!!!!!! :w00t::runnningaround::yay: (By the way...I merged the two threads.) joelstrouble 01-08-2008, 02:44 PM Congratulations!!! The list of us that has "borken out" of the LDR are getting long  Wonder what the success rate are? entropyembrace 01-08-2008, 03:55 PM Congrats! :w00t: I love hearing about couples that close the physical distance to be together. :bgrin2: Bob's babydoll 01-08-2008, 08:15 PM congratultions, Sienna! :yay: Another LDR bites the dust! :runnningaround::fooddance7::pianodance: lynn59 01-08-2008, 08:34 PM Yes!!!!! Thanks for sharing! :monkeydance: eponavet 01-08-2008, 08:40 PM CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :runnningaround: zoliepup 01-08-2008, 09:02 PM Congratulations from here! I hope to be posting a similar thread someday soon!!! Sienna 01-08-2008, 10:12 PM Thank you SO much everyone! Especially my "familiar" friends who've been here so much longer than I have and have always found time to post!!! You all have helped so much... usually by openly sharing your own stories, good and bad. It's been a VERY rocky road. Not all bliss and loveliness by any stretch. We've dealt with the same issues and insecurties that I'm sure most of you have. And we've come through it to get to this point. I know that when I first signed on to Ageless, there were a million reasons in my head of why this relationship could never, EVER work. And slowly but surely, after reading soooo many posts and hearing encouraging (and yes, sometimes brutally honest) opinions and thoughts, there came a point when I thought... "well... just mayyyyybe..." lol. So all you LDR'r's take note! We're a tough lot I think! But one thing none of us seem to be lacking is passion and a certain amount of patience. So here's to the ending of more ldr's in '08! BRING 'EM ON HOME! :grouphug: Magnetar 01-08-2008, 10:19 PM Does this mean, there will soon be a wedding? Sienna 01-09-2008, 08:16 AM Does this mean, there will soon be a wedding? Yes. :) We have 90 days to get married after he gets in the country. It's going to be just him, my daughter and myself. We're going to have a "real" wedding (with family, friends, and most importantly, him in a tuxedo )more towards the end of the year after we've had time to plan it all properly. Rob 01-09-2008, 10:33 AM Yes. :) We have 90 days to get married after he gets in the country. It's going to be just him, my daughter and myself. We're going to have a "real" wedding (with family, friends, and most importantly, him in a tuxedo )more towards the end of the year after we've had time to plan it all properly. Copycat. :p It's great to hear he's on his way soon. :) suicideblonde 01-09-2008, 03:53 PM Wow... it seems like you just joined and told us about the two of you! This is amazing news, esp. in that time frame, for from what I recall around here, these types of things seem to take a lot longer! Love your plan, and wish you both the best! Regards.... Magnetar 01-09-2008, 09:38 PM Yes. :) We have 90 days to get married after he gets in the country. It's going to be just him, my daughter and myself. Glad to see more weddings out there. Sienna 01-09-2008, 10:18 PM Copycat. :p It's great to hear he's on his way soon. :) Oh hursh you!!! What is that saying?... Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? I've always held you and Donna in high esteem! It only makes sense we ride on your coat-tails of LDR success!! JUST KEEP IT SUCCESSFUL DAMMIT! :tongue2: Mannequin 01-09-2008, 10:23 PM That's great news, Congratulations!!! :bgrin2: I hope to have such good news to share soon too, lol Rob 01-10-2008, 11:03 AM Oh hursh you!!! What is that saying?... Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? I've always held you and Donna in high esteem! It only makes sense we ride on your coat-tails of LDR success!! JUST KEEP IT SUCCESSFUL DAMMIT! :tongue2: :p Honestly, I really think it is the best way, especially if you want to organise something that is quite detailed. 90 days isn't long enough to do that. And it's a pain if you've got lots of people coming from abroad and not much notice! Got any plans of what you'll actually do? sheila4pd 01-10-2008, 12:50 PM I am very happy for you!!! Wooooo hoooo!!! Has he visited your state before? Sienna 01-10-2008, 08:19 PM Thanks for the nice words of support and congrats everyone! It means a LOT coming from you guys! No, Rob. No definite plans yet. We know we'll have a smallish ceremony, probably outdoors... close friends and fam. But we're definitely not in a big rush. Just going to enjoy our time together and get the never-ending immigration stuff out of the way (you know all too well... AOS, social security stuff, blah, blah, blah). And he's been over here a bit Sheila... for a couple of 3 month stretches and some mini-visits. lol! Enough to know that it SUCKS when he's NOT here. We can't wait for him to get here!!! Charlotte 01-11-2008, 01:42 PM I'm happy for you! I know how hard it is to do the long distance thing. We've narrowed down our wait to 3 years more (instead of indefinite) :D christina923 01-17-2008, 04:48 PM probably to late...but i have been having this disagreement with people forever.... EAD so he can beginning working...it IS given at POE.... if you ask nice, and they are in a good mood. they do not have to, but my husband got his without even having to ask. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=104994 christina923 01-17-2008, 04:52 PM and congratulations! TALLBLONDECUTE 01-17-2008, 06:39 PM And more congratulations!!!! :bgrin2: |
