Hi!
John got the results of his recent CAT scan and the results were good!!!!
The docs said the tumor on his liver is not active, didn't even take in any of the dye so it's not metabolizing and that means, it's like a dead volcano!!! I don't know if that signifies it's gone, or if it's remission, but it's good news!!!! All that home juiced wheatgrass and implants helped SIGNIFICANTLY!! His Hep C viral load is at an alltime low due to the Interferon he's taking...we don't know if he's still on the short list for a transplant or if we have more breathing room. He's going up to Shands at Gainesville for the full team consult. John is a wonderful man, brilliant and witty and Mr. Environment/Sustainability. I am so proud of who my guy is inside and out. The cancer diagnosis came last Spring and it has been quite a ride and a challenge for the r'ship. By the way, please, if you're not an organ donor, please consider!
Anywya, just wanted to share my happy news!! :yay:

Rebecca, this is GREAT news. I assume the remainder of his treatment will depend upon the results of this team consult. How soon does that happen? At any rate, please keep us posted. John sounds like a wonderful man. We've met his YW, so we know he's certainly a very lucky man.

The best to both of you,
Mike

Thanks for your responses, but i have to be honest. I am a bit hurt. I share life affirming news and hardly anyone celebrates with me. A liver cancer prognosis means one dies within the year or less. Have I caused offense somewhere?

Oh well. ((JustMike)), he goes for consult this Weds and we'll see what is recommended. That was a sweet compliment, btw. :)

((Guess)) ((Zoliepup)) ((Geo))

THANKS!!

Great News!
I can't imagine what you have been going through, it must be so scary to have someone you love having an illness of that magnitude.

Hi, I was happy to read your good news. Cancer is such a scary diagnosis. Having the benefit of a medical team and taking responsibility for his health in a proactive way is the best combination. I believe in giving the body what it needs to heal itself.

Let us know how it goes with updates. :-)

I'm sorry that you felt hurt that you didn't get more responses. :( Speaking only for myself, I know that I can't always read every thread each day. So I'm especially sorry that I missed yours.

I am very happy for your John and you. And, yessiree, I am an organ donor.

That's great! Hopefully the consultation will bring more good news.

As an aside, I am an organ donor but it's also important to support medical research into gene therapy, stem cells, and other technologies that will give us more options in treating organ failure and disease.

Oh gee. Now I have tears in my eyes. I appreciate your kind returns. I know cancer isn't an "age" issue, (although we qualify with a 23 year age gap! Lol!)
but it's just not easy. The hardest part is people ask (and rightfully so) "How's John?" but no one ever asks how I'm doing with all this stuff. (Pity party, yes, just for a bit. Then I'll keep going ) I need to keep doing what it takes to nurture me, so thank you. Thank you deeply. :rose:
