OK, ok so its been a while...how about a wedding story?

Well,
I have been on and off the board for a long while now, and have come back to post victory! I have conquered an insurmountable ....err.....uhh...wait....sorry...that was just my male bravado talking :D !!

No, really, I have finally gotten married to Leanne. Those of you that remember, she and I met on AOHell about 6 years ago on November 9th in the "Tonight's the Night" chat room. After a 6 year long road trip with many highs and lows, we got married this past December 29th, 2002!

Man oh man, I can't begin to tell you just how much my knees were knocking at the alter....j/k....seriously ( i know, I'm NEVER serious), as I stood up there, I was steady as a rock because I was solid as a rock in the knowledge of our love. I did expect several family members on both sides to jump up and object.

(hint, I solved that problem by slipping the judge doing the ceromony a $20 to skip the "if anyone has any reason that they should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace" part!)

Well, it went swell, and I have pictures to prove it.

Well, I will be posting a bit more, and may even have some topics on my website here fairly shortly.

As always, YMMV = Your mileage may vary

Congratulations...and thank goodness for you. Seriously. I have read so many stories lately where the y/m decided to take a break or where things did not work out, I honestly was starting to lose hope. I wondered if I was not just this naive older woman waiting, like a sitting duck, for the day four or five years into the relationship where the y/m decided to move on to younger woman, live on his own, decides children are a necessity or whatever else causes the end. I was starting to wonder if it was not a stage y/m go through, trying an older woman for a few years, before they move on to the so-called American Dream of a same-age wife, 2.5 kids, a dog and a mini-van. *sigh*
You and your wife are, my dear, a very welcome success story, and I think you for sharing it. I wish you and your lovely wife many many more years of happiness.

You guys :) You make me blush. Our ages are 50/29. A large 21 year difference. I don't know what the deal was last year, with all the other younger men. Although to be fair Leanne and I did have a seperation, but not by choice. We were living in Ft. Collins Colorado and a family member became very ill, and we made the decision that it was time to leave Colorado anyways, so I left and went to my family member's side, while Leanne closed up the house. It was a long 9 month seperation that was harsh. Maybe I'll write a new thread about it.

Anyways, thanks for the great compliments.

As always YMMV
