Hi folks..
I don't get on here as much as I'd like to (keeping up with our farm and my OM keeps my schedule full!)...but I always enjoy reading about what people are doing in their lives.
I just wanted to do a bit of celebration online, as my 32 yr. OM and myself are celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary later this month (we just celebrated his 70th birthday last year!). It's been a really good relationship...especially once he got past thinking I needed to have babies to have a fulfilling life. Once we moved to this small town in western CO, it's been an eye opener for my man---we know of MANY women who have not had any kids...and they do just fine for themselves & their spouses.
Our relationship has grown quite a bit since we first met. I've learned to react to stressors in a much healthier manner (bad childhood!)...and my husband's learned to not be so controlling & "informative" about every single thing. Well..when you've lived that long, I guess you've accumulated lots of information in your life...but I'm an adult too, and sometimes we have to "re-invent the wheel" for ourselves (in spite of what our spouses think). :)
Life is really good for us...though we are quite busy. My husband's supposed to be retired (he's working harder now that he ever has)...but it keeps him fit, and it keeps him active, which is good. We're quite blessed that he is so healthy! Some of that has to do with what I've done for him over the years. I'm not a massage therapist, but I've picked up some technique over the years---I've really been able to heal up his knees, so they don't cause him pain, and I help his back/neck when they get too tight. This type of therapy is good, since it does help the tissue heal...but it also helps to bond the two of you more closely. Even if it's just rubbing his knees while we watch TV...it always helps to make us feel closer.
Well...enough rambling. I have to figure out what we'll do during Valentine's day and our anniversary. He's not too much of a romantic guy with the little things in life...but he has created a world of horses and a farm for us (because of me), and I'm always thankful to have such a caring man in my life.
Live, love and always keep an open mind with your mate. Life is great!;)
