I live in a farming town that is only a 1/2 hour drive inland from the Pacific Ocean. It is nestled in a small valley that is primarily agricultural. North America's most primitve wilderness area is immediately north of town. The town is decorated with palm trees everywhere.
Its not unusual for the winter storms to leave a layer of snow on the mountains north of town. Once the stroms pass through, it creates some wonderful scenery in town. If you can imagine 75 degree F temperatures, clear blue sunny skies, brisk clean air, a gentle ocean breeze, being surrounded by green mountains, palm trees everywhere and snow capped mountains to the north. Yesterday was such a day.
To top it off, I can hop in the car and in 1/2 hour have my toes in the Pacific.
