Hi Everyone!
Great news!!! My Honey has a NEW LIVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yes:
He got the call Tuesday morning and by midnight he was on the table. I have had no doubts, no fears, nothing but a great sense of peace about his success and he has weathered the first two days BEAUTIFULLY!! He is perky, already up and moving around, most tubes are out...of course, he is sore and loaded on dope for the pain (no morphine though-he's non-narcotic) Shands Hospital in Gainesville rocks.

There is more in front. I am getting prepped on homecare and am not sure how we're going to do all of this, but we will.

Hugs and love!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Life is so good, we are so blessed. John and I try so hard to never miss a lesson in this beautiful life together. The spirit/person who gave us his organ will also be held in our hearts so tenderly. We know he was a 28 year old male. Energy never dies, my friends.

Much love, Me

There is more in front. I am getting prepped on homecare and am not sure how we're going to do all of this, but we will.

That's great news! And you're right, you will get through this, because no matter what, from here on it's just bumps in the road. One day at a time dear. Cherish them all one day at a time.

Thanks all, I'm exhausted. Went back to work, expected him home Monday or Tuesday, but maybe tomorrow. They draw blood to check levels constantly before they send home. I'm missing my honey.

I also had to put my cat down during all of this...heart defect, my dad had a catheterization tell us he has a blocked artery, so he has a surgery next week, my sister is roughing through kidney stones...but I am intact!!!

I went to gym yesterday, took myself out to dinner last night (Indian)...and I took tomorrow and Thursday off to recieve him home and be there (we're getting a calendar of friends together to come be with him as he can't be left alone although he doesn't really need nursing care so to speak...

I'm just wiped. I want to eat ice cream and chocolate bars all day long...

I admire your strength Rebecca. You have a wonderful, calming spirit that seems to keep you centered and your partner is lucky to have someone like you in his life.

I hope his health continues to improve and your positive attitude is sustained!

You are so sweet. Thank you. I have had my meltdowns, more than a couple. John really detached and treated me less kindly than he was the other folks around him...and I understand on many levels why he was doing that, but I wanted to be close, and he was far...I had to be firm with my HunnyBunny and let him know (with love) Ouch! ouch! ouch! (what I really wanted to say was, I don't care if you ARE one day post-op, you have no right to be harsh with me, you big butthead!!!) But...I didn't.;) Instead, I found good words to let him know I was hurt and needed to take care of myself if he couldn't ease up.

The good news is that he dropped that behavior and we connected on a deep, sweet soul level for the rest of the time I was there...

sometimes, you just gotta keep practicing!

I ended up getting coffee ice cream!

Thanks those of you who posted. I really appreciate your friendship. I also belong to a ladies' group in town, and one of them slipped me an anonymous card with lots of supportive comments and I burst into tears. We help heal eachother.

And now, as I type this, I can hear my Honey breathing steadily...he came home around 6...sporting a Van Dyke!! (I haven't seen him since the hospital goodbye last Friday night...love it!!) He looks weak and like he walked through a war, but he went out to water the vegetables...most beautiful thing I've seen all day...he and a hose and abunch of tomato plants...

Thanks everyone!!!!!!

He's rocking an easy tune, but doing it!
He went back to hosp to check his blood---it looks great! I help with the meds (love being Nurse) ;)

The autopsied his old liver...definitely cancer...he has a lot of side effects, mainly headaches, but it will pass. He is about two weeks post transplant and doing so WELL!!! Docs are loving it!

We have friends stay with him during the day. He waters the yard, showers, dresses, rests a lot, is going out to breakfast, small jaunts, then back to bed.
He's amazing~~~~!!:yes::yes:

I'll tell you this...John went into an acceptance mode, not a resistant mode. By accepting, he went into a proactive place...raw food institute, etc. He got his health to it's best most optimum place...and he's been careful with food all his life. Acceptance led to gratitude which led to get in the flow of healing. John is a courageous man in all areas of his life. I wish y'all could meet him. You'd love him like I do. He is such a smart, compassionate, gentle amazing man of service for this planet. People just love being near him. He exudes good will, witty humor, outraegeous charm

Docs are telling him that he is a poster child for recovery. His mind was calm, his spirit was calm and his body was primed for good work. He has had all his staples removed (looks like Jaws but him), and all of his blood numbers are in the right, bestest places.

There is a lot of pain...neuro-skeletal pain...the incision and organ are fine. :bgrin2:
