Ageless Upgrade

On Saturday, March 15th, at approximately 8 am eastern US time, the site will be unavailable while we undergo an upgrade. The site will be unavailable for about 1-2 hours during that time.

There apparently will be lots of nice new features, so it will be an exciting upgrade!

We wait with bated breadth! Let's hope that some form of political/current affairs discussion is allowed.

Sorry, Ed, but we've "been there, done that." We only just recently did away with that section.

The upgrade is not going to change the types of sections we have on the site. It will mostly be addressing site functionality.

So we are left to dwell on threads about what on top of our fridges...

No disrepect to yourself Whiterose as you obviously help keep this site going, but I have to say that the forums are no way near as interesting as they were a couple of years ago when I first joined. Still, I look forward to seeing the "new look" site.

Ageless THRIVED without those god-forsaken forums, and it will thrive again. Message forums on the internet are, for the most part, cyclical. Activity comes and goes.

Might not be interesting for you, but I'm sure there's a metric crap-ton of people that they ARE interesting for...

Well, chit chat is supposed to be just that... chit chat. A place for light-hearted fun.

And Ageless' primary purpose is to be an age gap relationship support site.

While we recognize the interest in having more indepth discussions, the fact is it wasn't working at this site and was causing more harm than good. When that happens, it's time for a plan b. And right now the plan b is that we are not allowing those kinds of discussions here. It's something we may re-evaluate in the future, but for now, we need to focus more on getting back to basics for this site and that's focusing on supporting age gap relationships.

If people want to have fun, and post silly topics just to pass the time, such as what is on top of our refrigerators, that certainly doesn't detract from the site's purpose and chit chatty stuff doesn't negatively impact the relationships between members here.

So, if you have further questions or comments about our decisions to remove the discussion section, you can PM me anytime and we can talk about it further. Or, you can also PM Jo-Admin, the other site administrator.

If you click on the FAQ link on the navigation bar up top, you'll find quite a few topics and instructions. Explanations for how to customize your profile, how to create personal albums in your profile, how to post comments on another's profile, how to add someone to your "friends" list, etc.

The tag thing is optional. If you want posts and pages here at AL to get indexed in search engines, thus drawing (potentially) more members, then when you make a post, pick a couple of words that are relevant to the topic being discussed and add them in the tag area.

It's all called social networking.

and yes the ugly pic is still up there, until the owner/admins find another theme for the forum. :)

Social networking....oh well so long as we get some new people to replace all those who've left that would be a good thing

Im still learning about the upgrade...just like y'all.lol, yep you could call it a chatbox.

Social networking....oh well so long as we get some new people to replace all those who've left that would be a good thingThat's the thing, the more visible the forum is on the net, the more people discover this place, the more potential there is for new members - both people who are curious about age-gap relationships, and those who are in one but didn't know about this site.

So whenever y'all post a new thread, TAG IT. Also on existing threads - you can add tags to them. Search engines latch on and the site gets a boost in the google/yahoo search engine ratings.

It's a win-win :)

The great thing about the new social networking features is that, the more visible the forum is on the net, the more people discover this place, the more potential there is for new members - both people who are curious about age-gap relationships, and those who are in one, but didn't know about this site.
