Charlton Heston, the square-jawed movie star who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ben-Hur and was famed for a number of other epic films, died Saturday night at the age of 84.
A great actor who will be missed.
But I'm wondering if anyone actually did pry the gun from his "cold dead hands".

I liked him too, but I didn't like his views on gun laws.

He had a famous speech to the NRA that included something like, "If they want to take my gun away from me, they'll have to pry it from my COLD, DEAD HANDS" (to wild applause).

Yeah, and I think that was in Columbine right after the shooting at the high school.

Charlton Heston was such an amazing actor. I admired the fact that he passionately stood up for what he believed in.
For all the epic characters he's protrayed through the years, the role in which I've been most impressed with is that of husband to his wife, Lydia for over 60 years. In today's world where Hollywood marriages are a pathetic joke for the most part, Charlton and Lydia were a shining example of what love and commitment are all about.
R.I.P, Mr. Heston

yup, i think heston was the ONLY person that could ever pull of playing moses (in the 10 commandments), which was the strongest telling of the story ever done
heston came from a diffrent era of on screen larger then life heros and it's sad to see just how few of them are left now
