Hi everyone,

I'm 38 yrs old and was engaged to a woman 15 yrs older then me. We met online in 99 and talked only online for months before progressing to phone calls, then months went by and we finally met. We were together almost 7 yrs before pressure from her children (then in their late teens, early twenties) and some semi regular arguing by the two of us, we decided to call it quits. Her children didn't think it was right for her to be with me because of the age difference. She said it didn't matter, but I think it slowly dawned on her that between me or her kids, they would win. We're still LD friends and all, but I find myself wondering if I could be with a woman my own age or younger, and I don't know. I've always gotten along better with people older then me since my teens, and honestly have been attracted to older women since about that time also, I just never had a chance to meet and date one.

My problem is, at 38..am I still 'young' ? lol. It seems to me that women here are attracted to much younger men, 20's-early 30's. Another thing that keeps me from 'getting out there' and looking to meet someone is my health. It seems like once someone thinks you're sick, you're no longer able to be in a relationship. Ahhh...maybe I'm just frustrated with being single! It was so much more fun being in a committed, caring and loving relationship rather then looking for Ms. Right Now.

If anyone has read this far, thank you! And I've gotten this 'first' post out of the way too :)

Take care all,
AJ

Grumpysgirl,

Thanks for the welcome, this looks like a great place to chat as well as sit back and read what others are feeling.

See you around the board!
AJ

AJ, trust me that a good man is always desired, regardless of age! So don't get hung up on your age (it's just a number, right ;)) and focus on selling the other qualities about yourself!

I'm so sorry to read about your relationship. Sometimes, as much as we want something, it's not enough to get the other person on the same page as you.

I look forward to reading more from you!

:welcome: to Ageless.
