Where is this going, need opinions please?

Long story but I met my OM when I was 18 and he was 35. We dated off and on for about 6+ years, he was quite the playboy and I finally went on with my life. Now 19 years later, 1 child and 2 bad marriages behind me we are back together and have been for almost a year now. 19 years ago he told me he would never tell me he loved me unless he really did...well he never told me he loved me until a few months ago and said that he always did. Needless to say that floored me because I always wondered if he don't love me then he couldn't love anyone?

We are doing fine, and I am so happy. I just don't know where we are headed. He has been divorced for about 28 years and never married. He has made some statements that makes me think that he has thought about us being married and together forever. But in June when we started dating I made a point to let him know marriage was far from my mind and then it was. Now I dont; want to seem unapproachable. I don't want to rush into anything but if there has ever been anyone that I loved in my life it would be him and if he asked me I would just be in heaven.

His daughter made the statement to me that she thought he and I would get married.

My question is ..Should I ask him where he thinks this is going? I don't want this to linger on for years and go nowhere like it did before.

Ask him. It's only fair to you and him. I think y'all have been back together long enough that a conversation like that would be OK. That's just me though. Maybe he just doesn't want to scare you off and you can't just keep dangling in limbo forever. I know this is easier said than done, but I think the talk should happen.
