southerngal 04-05-2003, 08:41 PM GRRRRRR...I hate this time change!!!! It takes me from now till October to get used to it!!! I dont like "losing" one precious hour of sleep  . Why cant they just leave things alone???? I say this every year - I'm writing my congressman LOL.
Southerngal
jordan 04-05-2003, 08:47 PM I agree...maybe it was a good idea 200 years ago, but not anymore...and along the same lines, I think we should get rid of time zones...ya need a slide rule to figure out what time a tv show is supposed to start! ok, well, maybe it's not that extreme, but still.....
MichiganJim 04-05-2003, 08:52 PM Now if you truly tired of the hour ahead and back thing,
Arizona is a nice place to live and no savings time!:)
Princessdy 04-05-2003, 08:59 PM SG, iffin I remember correctly, you reminded us of the last time change as well ... Our own little time change gal :)
Thanks for the reminder ... I sure needed it :D
Princessdy
Polly 04-05-2003, 10:05 PM Thanks MOM! (My mom usually calls me to tell me to do this, but she tells me THE NEXT DAY, so I'm like, clueless, for half a day, wondering why everything seems off-kilter) SG, you've just made me less dependent on my mom! (I don't know if she'll like that!)
Mark_Texas 04-05-2003, 11:00 PM You mean to tell me I am gonna lose one hour of my beauty sleep
GRRR not good I need all the beauty sleep I can get
yellowrose 04-05-2003, 11:29 PM I used to hate it because I had to get the kids to bed an hour earlier and it was still daylight outside!
Why do we do this anyway?
toasty 04-06-2003, 01:20 AM Thanks SG, I would have totally forgotten.
Brenda
Tyger74 04-06-2003, 04:14 AM Thanks for the reminder south! :)
EMCAD80 04-06-2003, 04:17 AM I hate it too!! But I guess it's done for a reason.
Why do we do this anyway?
I was told, among other things, for power usage. The lighter it is outside...the less you have to use your lights.
Ah...who cares an hours loss of sleep isn't worth it....I'll be grouchy Monday
Tall Guy 04-06-2003, 04:27 AM From what I understand, it was around so that businesses could be open longer. See, if its 8pm and its light out, you spring the clock up and its 9pm and its still light out. The longer its light out, the more apt we are to go out and shop. Is this bull shit? Yes. I think Az has the right idea: They don't do this spring/fall clock change BS.
Fact is the earth goes around on its Axis once every 24 hrs, and it goes around the sun once every 365 days. And, that my dears, is science.
Steve
EMCAD80 04-06-2003, 04:29 AM I'm gonna start calling you Bill Nye :D
Tall Guy 04-06-2003, 04:37 AM its Tall Guy the Science Guy. Wait, thats redundant. Umm. . .Bill Nye it is hehe
Steve
EMCAD80 04-06-2003, 04:45 AM Why is the sky blue? What makes it rain? Why is it I'm still awake :p!
Bill Nye has been bad....lurking around in the YW/OM side...on wait...hee hee, I'm lurking too
Tall Guy 04-06-2003, 04:50 AM The sky is blue because our atmosphere refracts certain light from the sun. I think it refracts the red light, but I can't remember right now. It rains because I pee'd in the snow and some snow evaporated, formed a cloud and washed the sidewalk where I went wee wee off. God I love nature
Steve aka Bill Nye
EMCAD80 04-06-2003, 05:08 AM If I laugh too loud my mom won't let me visit any more! I'll wake her and the dog! Ladies...we have a true comedian.
Tall Guy 04-06-2003, 05:19 AM Thank you thank you. No autographs please, but pictures Ok. Na, you can have my autograph. Might be worth a few cents in a few years. . I'm sure Charmin will need a new design sooner or later
Steve

*Plays Dave Matthews as he attempts a takeback of Ageless Love muahahahah*
EMCAD80 04-06-2003, 05:33 AM I heart DMB!!! I want to marry Dave...too bad he's taken. I hope one day i'll meet him and he'll realize that he didn't need to propose to his wife 500 times....all he needed was me!
Crash and Halloween are two of my favorite songs.
*wants to rush to the car and grab my DMB cd's*
Tall Guy 04-06-2003, 05:37 AM He's all mine and i'll fight to the death!!!
Just kidding bout that one. I have all his CD's. Halloween is one freaky song, and Crash is the best song in the world. Check out the new live cd that he released "Live at Folsom Field". its really good. Tracks off of Busted Stuff, Crash, before the crowded streets and he even does Bob Dylin song. Oh, and I get to see him in concert and you donw *niner niner niner* :p August 2nd, Shoreline Ampatheatere, Mountain View, Ca
Steve
EMCAD80 04-06-2003, 05:39 AM Well last year I went to his concert and won back stage passes...no Dave though :( I wanted to confess my undying love for him.
You do know what Halloween is about don't you....seeing that your a huge fan and all...:p
Tall Guy 04-06-2003, 05:43 AM I rarely read too far into lyrics of songs. They sound good how they are, their meaning is irrelivant. But, then again I suck at infering meaning in things, so. . .enlighten me.
You lucky punk!!! how'd you get backstage passes? I went to a concert of his last year with Lady, it was May 18 at shoreline. . .day after one of our month-a-versaries. It was a good show, although the sound was kinda funky and we were stuck at the top of the lawn. Oil well.
This is Tall Guy from Agelesslove signing off
Steve
EMCAD80 04-06-2003, 05:46 AM To enlighten you:
Dave proposed to his love six...yes six times and each time denying him. So he wrote Halloween LOVE IS HELL pretty much sums it up for that song.
I won back stage passes from a radio station....god bless the press and free give a ways ;)
Tall Guy 04-06-2003, 05:49 AM I'd have to ***** myself to be able to afford back stage passes. Oh well, all the better. . .lady would throw herself on him and she'd get arrested and i'd have to ***** myself to bail her out anyway! I guess i'm just a *****.
Steve
EMCAD80 04-06-2003, 05:50 AM I'd throw myself on him too....Lady has great taste!
Tall Guy 04-06-2003, 05:52 AM How she would say no to him! I mean, he's Dave Matthews for gods sake does she not know who he is!!! As for Lady and her great taste. .well I wouldn't know. .she ended up with me. which can't say too much :)
Steve
EMCAD80 04-06-2003, 05:55 AM doesn't say much....!!I'm sure it says plenty. Your a great guy and Lady must be very happy! Until she wakes up!! LOL
Well, she finally accepted Dave's proposal and now they have twin girls...damn her for giving in...she ruined my chances.
Dang, I forgot all about this hour change, no wonder I'm tired!!!
MichiganJim 04-06-2003, 08:47 PM To the world you may be one person.
But to one person, you may be the world.
Now exactly what that has to do with this thread ????
Just thought I'd throw it in!
EMCAD80 04-06-2003, 08:57 PM You never fail to capture my heart
MichiganJim 04-06-2003, 09:02 PM And what a very precious heart to capture!
I'll leave you with:

because otherwise we would be waking up in the daylight at 5 am all summer.
I think it was originally started to give the famers more sunshine at the end of the day. I think Ben Franklin started it.
I don't mind it. My computers and phone set themselves. I have to do the stove, alarm clock and microwave.
What I want to know is how the DOGs know not to bark until 5:30 again.
