A Brave YW

I'm going to ask the OW of this site to grant me pardon as I honor a very brave YW. Jessica Lynch (sp?), who risked her life for America.

I can't remember if she's in the Army or Air Force, but the way she stood up to Iraqi forces -- fighting to the last bullet in spite of her injuries -- is awesome. She's certainly very brave, dedicated, and a strong woman. Maybe the other YM on this site could at least join me and acknowledge that sh'e one of the good YW.

Well, I'm not a man, but I'm as proud of her as you are, and think SHE ROCKS!!! I'm so grateful she came out of that alive. Who knows what all they did to her? I just hope she can heal and live a reasonably happy life from here on out. She gave the ultimate sacrifice...herself...which is more than a whole lot of people would ever give. She has my ultimate respect and prayers.

Young woman, old woman, I think everyone here can agree that we all can honor a STRONG woman, which Jessica clearly is.

There are a lot of young women like her in the armed services. They are all simply amazing people.

Of course, I think the YM, and the OM ,and the OW in the armed forces are simply amazing, so perhaps I'm biased ;) :: Was a total Shwarzkopf fan during the first Gulf War ::

I admire her and her strength to stay alive is incredible. I am also amazed that they got her out of there... they are heros also. And these people volunteered for this.... I don't think that they are making $60-70,000 a year either.

YR, I can assure you, having been married to military guys twice, that they don't make anything close to that, unless they are officers that have been in for quite some time.

But they don't do it for the money. They do it for the most part because they believe in what they are doing.

All our military are awesome but I am so proud to be an American Woman knowing that Jessical Lynch is being shown around the world as an example of fine American Women.

She is an awesome woman. An awesome YOUNG woman, an awesome PERSON, American, soldier etc.

I have a friend the medical unit she went to for her injuries. She had 2 broke legs, broke arm, and a gunshot wound. They also found a car battery next to her bed when they found her. She is in a manitenance unit. So am I. you never hear about the brave men and women trying to fix all the equipment the army breaks while fighting. SALUTE

I hope the President has enough foresight to give her a medal. She is just absolutely amazing. I worked in a VA for 15 years, I saw a lot during those years. Her life will not be easy for quite awhile. The more support and positive feedback she can get from the public, the easier her time will be.
