sorry ya'llEMCAD80 04-06-2003, 09:44 PM I just find these quizzes interesting....plus it's something new for our forums yngrwf20 04-13-2003, 12:19 AM I am responding to a post from a month or two ago but think some may find it relevant. The question was as to how to keep it interesting when being married for many years. My hubby and I have been together for 12 years and invariably, every 3 to 5 months, I find myself web surfing for an out of town deal to get away. I am fortunate in that I have the support of my ex husband to take the kiddos when we just need to get away. Our trips are not expensive as we have 4 children but they are priceless to our relationship. It is important to continue to make time for each other. Life goes so fast. It's important to remind each other they are still the love of your life...be romantic. GET REST. Make love on a regular basis. Talk to each other about what you want out of life...and listen to one another. We love our children. We are dedicated professionals. But...WE are a team that needs time away from all other stress. I love my time with him. For just a day or two, I return to "girlfriend" status...A twinkle returns to his tired overworked eyes. He notes one in mine. When we get home, we are ready to face life's challenges together again. EMCAD80 04-14-2003, 10:11 AM congrats and hats off to you for making an effort to make it work. I know most would blow off a 'weekend getaway' because work calls or the timing is wrong. Wonderful idea ;) |
