I know that there are people here who are more than 15 years younger or older than your SOs, so I was wondering what you guys think is the most appropriate age difference 2 people can have?

15 year age differenceostc421005 04-08-2003, 07:08 PM I know that there are people here who are more than 15 years younger or older than your SOs, so I was wondering what you guys think is the most appropriate age difference 2 people can have? MerAlove23 04-08-2003, 07:42 PM What do you mean appropriate? I have a 17 year age difference.......not sure if that is "appropriate" or not.... I am not sure if that is the real question your asking... Are you in a OM/YW relationship? ostc421005 04-08-2003, 07:57 PM No, I'm not in a yw/om relationship, but there is an om that I like, who likes me back. I did mention to my parents a hypothetical situation where I would be with someone who is 15 years older, and I don't think they liked the idea so I didn't want to pursue it with this guy. I don't think "appropriate" was the word i was looking for. I guess I meant when is an age gap between 2 people seem too big? 10? 15? 20? datura81 04-08-2003, 11:21 PM Well now that people have tried to dictate to me what an appropriate age gap is, I'll never do it to anyone else. When is it too much? I don't freakin' know! Nor do I care. Whatever makes you happy, I just wish everyone who tries to give a specific example would mind their own p's and q's and let the age-gappers, gays, lesbians, interracial relationships, and any other love that could be outside the "norm" decide what is right for THEM. Whatever works and makes both happy. MerAlove23 04-09-2003, 05:11 AM Exactly what Datura said!!!!!!! Only You can make that decsion... I am in a 17 year age gap and for me... That's good enough... But that's not to say when someone goes beyond that number its bad..... Its all up to the person and Love doesn't see the age..... Your heart doesn't see the age..... Only your mind ....... So YOU need to figure out if this is right for you or not... And your parents will come around if they see that you are happy..... Mine had a few comments but they are fine.. he and his son are accepted in our home... and we are planning our wedding... and I thought my parents were going to disown me.... Like they have before..... But they love me unconditionally and want ME happy.... Happy4Me 04-09-2003, 08:13 AM Ditto to Datura & MeraLove. Can't make it any clearer than that! If you are of the age of consent and know what you want; if it all works; if love it there - there are no limits... EMCAD80 04-14-2003, 11:26 AM Came in a little late here....but I couldn't give better advice than that! |
