Holidays- How important are they to your relationship?

Is it important to spend certain holidays together?

What are your important holidays?

As children, we are taught to believe that certain holidays are meant to spend with family, friends and/or loved ones.

Does your loved one hold the same views, about the same holidays?

What do you feel when your loved one chooses to spend a holiday, that you believe is important, away from you ( with friends or relatives)?

What are your feelings?

As i'm in a long-distance relationship, my bf and I have so far managed to spend exactly zero birthdays, Christmases, etc together. But we did see in the New Year together, which was pretty cool.

Have a better one!

I think holidays together are nice when they can happen, but couples can make their own holidays as well. Also, sometimes one half of a couple comes from a different religious background, or has a different attitude towards holidays, than the other person. What's important is the time together.

I have always been a workaholic!

I came from a family of workaholics who seemed to always have their priorities in order.

I look at photo albums of every celebration and I wonder how they pulled it off?

Now, I'm trying to follow in their footsteps. Holidays are such easy bookmarks.

It's so strange, with my ex., I didn't always understand the need to be with her during holidays. I justified my decisions by sighting my desire to be a responsible professional.

Now, my lady's decision to spend time with her girlfreind and her girlfriend's mom in another state during this holiday left me feeling (uncomfortable).

Living is much a complex process.
