Real Women Have Curves

Can I just say, HURRAH!!

This is a wonderful, well-done, and--dare I say it--REAL story. The main character is a young Mexican girl living in Califoria. She has CURVES a plenty--and is beautiful. This is a story of change--but not the typical change either.

I recognized myself in her story. I saw my mother, my sisters, my friends. I saw every real woman who has a "flaw"...or a few. This movie made me laugh, made me angry, made me cry a little.

And it made me say...HURRAH!! At last.

Something true.

Watch it and see for yourself...I fully reccommend it.

Have not seen this movie yet, but want to. I thought the previews were a scream and I saw a story about it on ET. You know, it was done by the same people who did "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." It's refreshing to see movies where the people in the moving are not all beautiful, supermodel looking people.

This is a charming movie with excellent acting by mostly unknowns. Maybe I would classify it as more of a women's movie, since the main theme is women's self-esteem, but I definitely think that men should see it too to further educate themselves about us lovely female creatures. The movie actually made me want to gain weight!

I love this movie!!! It is a woman's movie, but I agree with Patricia, men should see it also. The young girl in the movie is beautiful and not the stereotypical hollywood stick girl these days. It is about self-esteem and being comfortable in your own body.

I haven't seen the movie, but I saw the DVD case at Blockbuster and she IS beautiful.

i liked it very much and real women do have curves and i love because im a bbw and hey we need something to repersent the big girls it came on the other day on hbo and they need to make more of these movies ......peace :D :) ;)

I loved seeing another ethnic group represented in a positive front. I felt just like the women when they "stripped". Yep I absolutely, truely, unapologetically LOVE my wide hips and thick thighs.

I saw the movie too and thought the acting was maginal, but they were REAL people and I loved the stripping scene too. We need not be so ashamed of our not so svelte bods.

Tonight I was at my daughters house and I commented that I thought her kitchen counters were high, she said you look short next to them, look, your boobs are at the counter top and mine are up here! I said well mine are sagging honey and I'm shrinking. So then we had to stand in front of a mirror and she had to point out how I was sagging and shrinking.

LOL... I don't mind.
