Movies to see in the future

During the time I watched Matrix reloaded, I saw posters for upcoming movies. Marvel has gone bonkers! I mean that in a good way...they are resurrecting the famous superhero...Frank Hardcastle aka The Punisher! I saw the 80's flick with Dolph Lungren and at that time I thought it was awesome with all the violence..don't u you just love hollywood! LOL! Anyway I still dont know the details of the movie but I am sure we are going to the see the previews in the future...I saw that it should be in theaters on august 2004.

Here's another movie that I think is awesome although I always wondered what it would be like if two evil horror monsters duke it out in an all out war. It might sound cheesy but there is a movie coming out this year I believe called Freddy vs Jason. Freddy Kruger from Nightmare on Elm street vs Jason from Halloween. These two awesome bad guys duke it out to see who is the supreme bad guy. What is crazy is that while these two duke it out, you see regular characters in the movie watch. It just sounds too crazy but hey..if you watched Phantasm, Gremlins, and Once Bitten in the 80's, I am sure the variety of just seeing two evil bad guys fight might be worthwhile. I vote for Freddy to be the winner in the battle because he can do scary things in nightmares and has the advantage.

Julie,

Thanks for reminding me about Jason, I get confused over the two movies Halloween and Friday the 13th. I think that Marvel is using the same company they used for Spiderman. What is interesting is the director is different and they are using Ang Lee for directing "The Hulk" who I think directed Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. As for Jason vs Freddy, not sure yet who is going to direct that one.

Lonestar,

That is a great idea! Have you played that video game many years ago Alien vs Predator? I played it so many times at the local arcade and it was a bad *** game! That predator character is awesome!

Freddy vs Jason:

The story takes place while Jason is in Hell (which I think was the 8th or 9th flick). Freddy finds Jason and uses him as a weapon against the kids of Elm Street but Jason quickly turns on him and tries to kill Freddy. Most of the flick will be these two going at it w/ the kids caught in the middle. From what I've heared there's a scene where it turns out Freddy is the one who drowns Jason in an attempt to truly do him in.

Punisher:

I can only hope this one doesn't tank. Thomas Jayne (Mickey Mantle in 61*) plays Frank Castle a Nam vet who's family is killed by the mob in front of him. He becomes unhinged and decides to take justice into his own hands. John Travolta is set to play the villain, a man in a similar situation who became a Mob Hitman instead. Doesn't sound too thrilling to me but we'll see.

Hellboy:

During WWII Hitler's forces turned to the supernatural and had the mad Russian Rasputin try and raise a demon to command. It worked but the demon ended up in the hands of the Allies and they raised the child as their own. He grows up to become the worlds foremost Paranormal Investigator. This comic is one of the best in the last 10 years and with Del Toro (Blade) filming it and Ron Pearlman (Blade II, Alien Resurection, a ton of other movies) as Hellboy and the comics creator involved with the script and art direction it should be damn good.

Aliens vs Preditors:

Where Jason vs. Freddy had a doable budget but a problem with the script and the rights between the comapnies, A vs. P has a much larger problem... Budget. I've seen parts of the final script they've had for ages and it's pretty damn good with no real side winning out in the end. Your best bet if you want a fix like this is to get Aliens vs Preditor vs Terminator 4 issue mini series from Dark Horse Comics. It was the last before thye lost the rights and was a damn good story.

A Quick Note on the Hulk for Julianne:

The Hulk you see in the previews is accurate on size. He is supposed to be a 10' tall monsterous engine of destruction that gets stronger the more angry you make him. There are scenes in the previews that make me very happy to see it is a CGI creature rather than a man in green paint like the old days of Lou. Sadly comic artists change his size constantly. Poor artists dont always make him look as big and mean as he should.

Ang has pissed off a lot of people with his CGI Hulk because he's stated he never wants to work with real actors again. CGI is easier to deal with. He then pissed off the people at ILM trying to get everything perfect w/ the Hulk scenes and the movie was delayed.

The Hulk is indeed a Marvel Comic.
