Had the nipples done, D liked them but couldn't do much with them for a year. I took them out after six months because picking at puss from my nipples...gross. Every time D tried to put his mouth on them...I'd have to stop and remind him that he doesn't want puss in his mouth. It was the worst pain I ever went through, and it is supposed to be extremely pleasurable after they heal, but I couldn't wait to find out...so I took them out.

Did you go to a small school!? That's too funny that you know waht colorguard is. I think it was Datura that knew of it also, but I think she was in the band...if my memory serves me correctly.

Yes I was a bandy. But of course, there were your typical band dorks, and then there was.....our group. We were more of the band bad-asses that just really liked music, and we often got in trouble for not being serious enough about our solo/group competitions. The class ahead of us were ALL dorks, ultra-practice heads, and they wreaked their revenge by ruining our senior trip. (They decided as officers to send us to St.Louis instead of Chicago, which was where everyone wanted to go...but we didn't have enough clout with the director, even though those people graduated and didn't even go on the trip.) :mad: Band was awesome though, a lot of smart kids, a lot of camaraderie at pep games and trips and contests, we had a bond that centered around music.....games, pep fests, graduation, we were always there. I think it was a wonderful experience (except jazz band, I've never been much of a jazz pianist, in fact I SUCKED). I played clarinet as my main instrument though, played til sophomore year of college in the "fun band". When even that started getting too competitive, I quit, because I didn't practice (or want to) near enough to hang with music majors. BAND RULES! All the cool kids are doing it now, too bad my beautiful wood/nickel plated clarinet is retired to a closet. :( Had much more fun than any sport I was ever in. Highly suggest it- but marching, I didn't like marching. Polyester uniforms, big ol' hats, high-stepping.....cold weather.....echhhh. Sorry EM!!! Maybe in CA.

Agree with the polyesther uniforms, but I was in colorguard...we had to wear skin tight crap all the time.

Have to tell you this story, Em, which will make you appreciate it even more. There was a girl I met when I was working in a hospital years ago who lived for music. She spent years studying in order to fulfill a life's ambition, to teach music and then lead bands in parades, at sports events, and the like. When I met her, she had developed juvenile arthritis and was so crippled she could barely walk with crutches and so her entire life was shattered as far as that dream. Fortunately she had a great sense of humor - painted her crutches pink with purple daisies - and although I lost touch with her when I left the job, she always remained in my memory of someone being able to survive no matter what life dealt her.

I lived in the U.P. for six years...now I'm stuck in the capital of our state...landlocked and hating it. Grrrr. No wonder I didn't know Fraser, looked at the map, its one of those towns that are "all detroit to me" :D I lived in Troy for a while....whew, too expensive for my blood though.

That's why I want eventually, before too much longer I hope, to go out to Washington, Oregon, or California, where you have the entire Pacific Ocean to play in, mountains to look up at, and sea gulls to throw rocks at. lol

I attended Lake Superior State for a few years, never finished...might just end up back there finishing a degree some time soon though. As for Spartans....just cuz I live in the next town doesn't mean I have to root for them. Let's hear it for the maize(sp?) and blue (in memory of my dear Papa, who cheered on the Wolverines till the day he died.) And also because they DON'T throw a riot, win or lose, unlike my neighbors....

You also said in another post that you have family in/from the U.P. Yeah, it is a different country up there...I met more "real" people up there than anywhere else. Down to earth, good-hearted people...you know who I mean!!

I do plan to see the rest of this great country someday, to be a more accurate judge of beautiful places...but it will be tough to steal my heart from my home!

Smoke? My older sister gave me my first cigarette when I was about 9 and said the trick was to SUCK IN as hard and fast and with AS MUCH SUCTION as possible with the first breath. Needless to say that was the last time I ever touched a cigarette.

Ludicrous Addiction: 200 sit-ups and 50 push-ups every night for the last 6 years.

What kind of shampoo do you use? Kerastase - The sun/chlorine one as I do a lot of swimming. It's pricey but of course, with my hair style, it lasts forever.

What are you favorite sports? Gee, too many to list. Played a lot of them. At the moment I mainly swim, cycle and play sooccer. Although I've got a game of golf coming up.

What are you most afraid of? Asking someone out who I've got a paralysing crush on. Been in that position three times in my life.

If you could change anything about you what would it be? To be relentlessly prolific in my writing.

Animal? Had dogs. The last one, a West Highland White Terrier lived to 17, taught me a lot about dignity in the end - and whose passing left me not wanting to get another puppy for a long time. "This'll just end in tears."

Bungee Jumped? Nope.

Broken the law? The usual minor stuff.

Gone skinny dipping? : Nope.

Messy or Neat: More on the neat side although can be messy and can definitely be 10 minutes late - as my friend's would testify. My problem is trying to cram a million things into the remaining hour before I'm supposed to be somewhere, and then believing a 30 minute drive can be bridged in 15 minutes. (That is, with no traffic with no traffic lights and at 3am.)

Travelled: A lot. U.S four or five times, Canada, Western Europe, U.K., Ireland, parts of Asia, Sth America.

Made yourself cry to get you out of something: Must have done that as a 2 year old, surely. Mother was very adept at calling my bluff, though.

Sunset or Sunrise: Sunset - recommend travelling as some spectacular ones on the Greek Islands, Peru, Paris, anywhere! Get going! Also great ones out your back door. (Or front door.)

Have you ever broken/fractured/sprained anything? Broke a bone in my foot playing tennis and broke a bone in my arm playing soccer. Countless sprains.

Do you have any piercings? One in my left ear, two in my right. The right ear's the interesting one since it's SUPPOSED to be the gay ear - so I get hit on by guys for having studs or an earring in the right.

What's your favorite color? I think it's yellow. Or at least in that spectrum.
Followed by the blue spectrum. Overall though, I prefer earthy colors. Had a mustard coloured jumper as a four year old that I wouldn't take off!

Do you wear rings? Currently got a thumb ring on each hand.

Do you hate anyone? No.

Does anyone hate you? The most hate that has been directed at me in my life has been from women who obviously decided they were going to sleep with me and didn't get what they wanted. As if every guy is a push-over once the woman decides!!! So guys get hated for being sleazy, sleeping with women and dumping them, I am here to tell you that guys ALSO get hated for NOT sleeping with women. A neighbor has not talked to me for two years for not hitting on her. That was after she rang me up and said that "what I (me) needed was a casual sexual partner" and I replied that Jill, the 65 year old a few houses down was looking after me with that one. She wasn't, but it sent the spunky 30 something into a tailspin from which she has yet to recover.

What are your favorite bands/singers? I've never been a voracious music person, much more into movies, so I'm capable of liking pretty well everything except head-banging stuff. Surprised me to see Eminem movie and actually form at least some form of appreciation for the artistry in rap, for instance.

What do you dream about: An alternative existence.

What do you write about? Realism with a soupcon of fantasy.

What the hell do you actually do? Work 3 days a week in video-making to fund the rest of my time writing on my own film projects.

What's on tonight? Catching up with a male friend for dinner and lending a supportive ear, yet again, to his disastrous current relationship. No doubt I will end the evening with a drive along the beach road listening to some music thinking NOT "What does the future hold for me?" but "What am I going to bring to my future?"
