I have talked to some of you on the phone regarding my plans and I wanted to make a public announcement to the members here. I decided to go back to college (fall of 2004). I am in the process of filing for financial aid and still working on my applications. Most of the schools I am interested in are out of state and in the east coast. I will not go to the colleges here in CA. I am excited about this decision because I know that with my 9 yr work experience, I know I can learn fast and get my degree. It's been a very long time since I went to college. I would love to get into the hardest schools in the east coast. I also would like to keep in touch with the people on the east coast and really get to meet y'all in person.

For the past 2-3 yrs I have been getting dreams of being in a classroom and it seems to me that my guides want me to finish school. The biggest fear that I have in going back to school is the workload and doing alot of essay writings. Now that I gained some maturity(5 percent lol), I believe that I can learn faster through group interactions(group study). My other concern is I want to get a job while at school to pay my current debts and of course other expenses. My major would be economics/finance. The one thing I need now is alot of support to get through this and really making it. I am fortunate to have friends here and those I call on the phone(even Maria calls me from overseas).

The reason I want to go back to college is to help me get a better job. This year has been slow due to the war we just had. I guess it is a good time for me to rethink my plan and focus on school. Heck, I am looking forward in meeting new friends, new life and possibly a new OW gf :). It will also keep me busy there and not have to post alot for those who are bored with my posts(lol). :p

YOu can do it! ......When I was 37 and had 3 kids to raise, I went back to school full time, and worked at least 35 hours a week. I was exhausted most of the time but made straight A's, so I know you can do it if I did it, and I have taken courses intermittently while working and raising those 3 through the years.....it is not easy, but after a while it becomes routine life like anything else. You will do great!

That's great Tyger! I too recently made the decision to go back to school.. it's hard, but you can do it. It wouldn't be worthwhile if it werent. :)

Thanks everyone..one of the reasons I wanted to post this is to get motivation to go through this and I appreciate your encouragement. I just got my transcript from my old college and there are things in my grades that I need to focus on once I get into the college. English courses is not my best subject.

Tyger, I am proud of you. And I'll be even more in some time, when you get your degree.
And knowing me, I'll be probably there, to watch you!

So, better be among the best, my friend! By the way, what are you going to major?

Maria,

My major is going to be in the area of Finance/Economics since my major goal is to get into real estate. Most schools have one or the other so I want to see which one is more suitable for me. Thanks.

Nessa,

I wont be far away from your area if I get into the school of my choice. I am hoping to get into the New England area.

Good for you...At 40 I decided to go back to school. Although I'm a travel and tourism major right now, I'm hook on education. Now there's so much more I want to learn that I started a Associate's and my BA and Master will be in something different...lol, why? because I can't decided so I'm doing it all.

I will repeat what I already said John, no one ever regrets more education. It's not getting enough that we regret. Best of luck!

Sing, Barbara and Paris,

Thanks for your kind words of encouragement.

Barbara,

I will notify you once I get accepted. I still have alot of applications to work on. I am working on getting a fee waiver for the all of the schools I am applying for and found out that I qualify as an independent student which should be a positive thing. Deadlines are still far away but I want to get it done a.s.a.p.
