Jannie 06-05-2003, 06:20 AM OKAY,
KILTS ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOO APPEALING TO ME....what do you women think?
They are very popular right now for men and I think they are so cute!!!
I was telling Nessa a 5'oclock shadow and a kilt and I would melt....on site. lol
At my daughter's college, there is a guy that wears one all the time, the girls are crazy about it.....does it have something to do with men and uniforms? I was wondering about that, you know how we love a man in a uniform ladies...
Anyway, your comments and guys yours too are welcome.
Maria 06-05-2003, 07:54 AM Jannie, me too, I love kilts. I am going to Scotland again in August and during the festival I am sure to see many men http://www.smilies.org/basesmilies3/male.gif dressed in kilts.
Now, why is it that I like it? I don't know! Maybe because we get to see their legs? http://www.smilies.org/basesmilies3/xxxx.gif
Nessa 06-05-2003, 09:37 AM or the statement that they don't wear anything under them?
Sean Connery in a Kilt... to die for.
Anyone see Liam Nison in Rob Roy...
ah yes.... men in kilts.
can they wear clogs too?
Nessa 06-05-2003, 09:48 AM Originally posted by Princessdy
Yes Jannie, that 5 o'clock shadow is hot to me as well ... I melt with that alone, sigh .... ;)
The kilt? Could it be that we ummmm, appreciate ... as men do with us ... ummmm, the availability ??? Yeah, legs are nice as well, thighs in fact ... :D
Princessdy :p
THIGHS yummy... big thick man thighs...
oh sorry... lost in thought there...
Polly 06-05-2003, 09:58 AM Totally gay! *ducks the retorts* But hey, I'm just a chicken raisin' Midwesterner, what the Hell do I know?
Now, show me a guy in cut-off shorts with a nice tan! That's sexy! Especially if he has a firm butt and the tight shorts accent that.
Peachy 06-05-2003, 10:35 AM Sorry Ladies, the last thing I want to see is my man in a skirt!!!!!
If I want to see legs he can wear shorts or be naked ;)
And I've had the hots for Sean Connery forever, but I certainly don't want to see him in a kilt!!!
Jannie 06-05-2003, 11:10 AM Polly, its funny you said that about the cut offs, cause I have thought that looked SO GAY when I see it....ooooh gross.. Im sorry...hahahhaha Daisy Dukes on a MAN!!!! YUCK
We all have different looks we like I guess
~Guinavere~ 06-05-2003, 12:02 PM I think kilts are so freakin' sexy! I have a picture of me and a guard taken at the castle of Mary Queen of Scots in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was the sweetest thing I had ever seen and so accomodating to let me have a picture taken with him. All the guards had on beautiful kilts as part of the uniform. I have a thing for men's legs, and I think a kilt shows them off rather nicely.
I agree with Jannie about the cut-off shorts. I have never found them attractive.:)
singalou 06-05-2003, 12:08 PM NOT me....my friend plays bagpipes and spent almost 5000.00 for one of those honest to goodness scottish plaids with the family crest=). Hate when another man spends more on his 'skirt' than ive ever spent on one in my life, lol. Gotta love mens legs, but i'd much prefer shorts to kilts anyday! Well for that matter I dont even LIKE plaids on me...now wonder if they could make silk kilts...that i might go for...even on a man=).

Picture the guy who played the houseboy in the movie The Birdcage.... yeppers... men in Daisy dukes... ewwwwww
datura81 06-05-2003, 12:28 PM I think the best thing would be a man in a kilt, with those tall socks on and all, but with no shirt on. Somebody call Playgirl, they need to hang up that fireman fantasy and be a little more creative....with KILTS. :)
Jannie 06-05-2003, 01:20 PM SORRY nessa, still doesn't do it for me...men in tight cut offs..ewwwww. ha
Actually what comes to my mind is a man that lives in my little redneck town...he is about 50 and he wears short short cut offs that are very tight with long knee sox and dips tobacco and wears a hat and THAT IS STUCK in my mind. hahah
My kids die laughing everytime they see him in those Daisy Dukes.
lol
Peachy 06-05-2003, 01:28 PM Well, I don't like to see men in those really short "Daisy Dukes" either, but I do like cut off jeans on men. And Polly did not say short cutoffs . . . she just said cutoffs . . . in my mind, that could mean anywhere above the knees. I just like guy's butts in jeans . . . that is if he has a good butt and wears the jeans well. Now that's hot http://emoticons4u.informationalot.com/cool/1245.gif

singalou 06-05-2003, 02:24 PM well MJ....they ARE rather LOUD...but he plays an awesome rendition of AMAZING GRACE...had a party once.. he brought his bagpipes to play and some people from another neighborhood called the police about THAT STRANGE NOISE=), but no public exploitation charge due to the man in the 'skirt', lol.
Tyger74 06-05-2003, 02:32 PM Jannie,
I would love to wear one and see how good I look with it :)
mauravel 06-05-2003, 02:51 PM A friend of mine is Scottish and at his wedding we all wore kilts and they are really comfortable.
Bagpipes however?!
Why do bagpipers walk whilst they are playing??
To get away from the sound...
Jim

Lady Starlight 06-05-2003, 03:13 PM For me, it depends on the guy and depends on the kilt. I don't care for the modern kilt, I only like the 15th century version (or earlier, obviously). They have to have really great legs. I think Mon Ange would look great in one, but I doubt I could get him in one even with threats and bribes.
He refuses to wear jeans too, demmit. He has a great *** and legs, but jeans are too "normal" for him. (His words, not mine). But dressed up fancy, he is delightfully pretty. Well, he 's pretty no matter what he does.
Uhm. Hmn. I think I need a cold shower.
PS. I agree, daisy dukes on a guy are suckage of the highest order. My father used to do that, and it scarred me for life.
Celtic-American 06-05-2003, 03:43 PM I've never worn a skirt in my life, but I might wear a kilt to Mardi Gras next year. Costumes of all sorts are popular there.
Celtic-American 06-05-2003, 04:16 PM Har har har,
Yes I can keep my KILT on!!!:D
Jannie 06-05-2003, 06:18 PM WEll Im sorry Polly, my bad, I could have swarn you said short cut offs, anyway, I just meant that when I think of cut offs, I think of that guy in our town. hahah
Get a bad picture in your mind once, and it is hard to erase, you know.
CELT, wear a kilt to Mardi Gras and you WILL LOSE IT...(hahah)
Jannie 06-05-2003, 06:21 PM And Tyger, if you do get a Kilt, then take a picture and let us see it!!!!!
Hey just a piece of plaid material draped around a man and not a shirt and that will be just fine for me....lol
singalou 06-05-2003, 06:28 PM ooooo julie...forgot about mel gibson...well, don't we women deserve the rite to change our minds on occasion=) loin cloths or kilts....now maybe leather be nice but have to do something about those knee-socks...ewwwww.
irparis 06-05-2003, 07:47 PM Yep, I have to agree. A guy in a kilt and a 5 o'clock will do it for me every time. I have a scottish friend and he send me a pic of himself in his kilt, he is absolutely gorgeous. If we hook up, I hope he wears it every evening at dinner, well maybe, it will certainly defeat the purpose of having dinner...lol
Paris
Polly 06-06-2003, 10:54 PM Yeah, I DON'T mean "Daisy Duke" shorts on a guy. That is TOO GAY!!! :D I mean, cut offs, about mid-thigh, showing off muscular, tan legs and a tight, firm butt. Let's add a tight muscle shirt or a shirt with sleeves ripped off at the top and open at the chest, revealing awesome pecks and a six-pack stomach.
Oh but a loincloth! I remember all those Tarzan movies when I was a kid, he was so strong, and he'd swing down and rescue Jane from a lion or something and whisk her up in his strong arm and take her to a tree...and when they'd go swimming, he'd do these total "swim team" dives into the river and come out with his muscular chest glistening and his hair slicked back...*sigh* Loinclothes are sexy because they're so, well, PRIMITIVE, like sexual chemistry is. :)
No to skirts, I mean, kilts! I don't want a man wearing a woman's article of clothing. I mean, what's next, MAN BRA'S??? I saw a man in a "manskirt" once on a talkshow, and I thought, "What a fruitcake!" Call me old-fashioned, but I like my men brawny and macho, with just a "hint" of sensitivity and feminism. I like to see a man in tight blue jeans with a flannel shirt, open to reveal his manly bod, working on a car or building something, but then he can lie in bed with me and cry at a movie. If he was crying at a movie with a kilt on, I'd feel like I was with my mother!

You are too funny girl!!! I love it and I agree with you 100%.
But, about the MAN BRAS . . . I think maybe Tall Guy might need to see about that for his "man boobies" he was bragging about on another thread!! :D
Polly 06-06-2003, 11:10 PM Tee hee hee! *Polly "tweaks" Tall Guy's "man boobies"!*
Mark_Texas 06-06-2003, 11:35 PM If i wear a kilt does it mean I have to shave my legs and plus I would have to rememeber to keep my legs crossed when I sit down so no one can get a peek at my Lucky Charms
. . . blast me if ya' want!!! http://www.extreme-athlete.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif

Savannah 06-07-2003, 12:35 AM (Am I the only Scot on this board??)
Guess it's in my genes, but a man in a kilt is HOT!! (Literally -- they're about 10 yards of 100% wool.) Or maybe it's that highly suggestive, strategically placed sporran in front..........
No leg shaving required, Mark Texas!
Lately it's been the trend for Scottish grooms to wear a kilt, in lieu of a tux, for their wedding. Not in my parents' era, however, and my father wouldn't be caught dead in a kilt!
Around 10 or 12 years ago it cost me $120 to have a "kilted skirt" (female version -- women don't get to wear kilts) made up in my family tartan. Which I never wear, because ironing all those pleats is a chore and a half!
Celtic-American 06-07-2003, 12:43 AM A lot of folks here think that the kilt is effeminate, cuz it resembles a skirt. Not so my friends. The kilt is not girlish on a man at all. The kilt is the native dress of the Scottish Highlanders, a warrior people who battled the English for centuries with axes, swords and pitchforks. When the English crushed them at Culloden, they accepted defeat and took up arms for the Crown. They spread the British Empire to the four corners of the world at the tip of the sword. The kilt is hardly for girls.
Peachy 06-07-2003, 01:25 AM Sorry, Celt, I know all the history and I love it, but it still looks like a skirt and I don't want my man wearing a skirt. In fact, I can't even fathom the thought !! http://www.extreme-athlete.com/forums/images/smilies/nope.gif

No no no no leg shaving that's half the fun.
I would NOT want to see brian in a kilt. LOL... nor daisy dukes for that matter.

MEN IN KILTS
MEN IN KILTS!!!!
lol
~Guinavere~ 06-09-2003, 03:36 PM I loved the celtic site! I still think kilts are sexy as hell. And I have never thought of them as a skirt, but as a uniform worn by a very masculine man.
Loved seeing Alice Cooper in the kilt. That is the best I have ever seen him look. And whoa baby! for Mel Gibson.
I must plan another trip to Scotland soon!
Peachy 06-09-2003, 03:42 PM Nope, Ladies, it still doesn't do it for me. So if I find a guy sporting a kilt, I will send him your way . . . no competition from me in that regard!!! :D
Nessa 06-09-2003, 03:46 PM thanks Peachy. I just went to that site. oh my... some men in kilts do look better than others.
Maria 06-09-2003, 03:48 PM Wait, I'll PM you my address!

Jannie 06-10-2003, 02:51 PM I HAVE BEEN PICTURING EVERY MAN I SEE ON THIS SITE IN KILTS AND EVERY MAN IN MY LITTLE TOWN THAT I SEE IN A KILT...
and guess what? Even rednecks look sexy in kilts!!!!!
Maria 06-10-2003, 03:00 PM Oh, my, another case of Acute Kiltitis...there must be an antidote....but who wants to find it? http://www.smilies.org/basesmilies3/loveeyessmly.gif
~Guinavere~ 06-10-2003, 03:06 PM I went to a small liberal arts college that was founded by the Presbytary.
We had a full blown Pipe Band and every year held a Scottish Festival which included many Highland games and contests, including which man had the bonniest knees!
One of the things I fondly remember about my college days are all the events and social gatherings, including commencement and graduation, where the Pipe Band would lead a processional and recessional dressed in their formal Scottish attire.
~sighs~ The music would be so beautiful it would at times bring tears to my eyes...but the way those men looked in their kilts was always a wonderful sight to behold.
Personally, I would need to get my kilt custom made. My thighs are big for my size, but that's due to my sport of powerlifting. :D
joe
Jannie 06-11-2003, 06:51 PM JOE, it would be your hips and waistline you would have to worry about in a kilt.....have peachy take some plaid material wrap it around you and WALLA, TA DA!!! You have a kilt, (somewhat.)
P.S. Isn't my dog cute?
Peachy 06-11-2003, 07:13 PM Now, Jannie, you know I wouldn't have anything to do with him in a skirt . . . and he wouldn't want that !!!! :D
BTW, your dog is darling. I'm still saying I'm going to post pics of mine as my avatar, but have been too lazy to take the pics. Maybe tonight . . . maybe not . . .

Nessa 06-12-2003, 09:08 AM but it's not a skirt.
it's a kilt. Women can't wear kilts I don't think. I think it's a guy thing totally.
betcha my redneck wouldn't wear one either so heck I'll just look at Sean Connery and Liam Neeson in kilts....
