Movie Duds

There is this movie coming out that seems like a total dud. It's called the "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". I am not sure I would watch 5 different characters beat the cr** of the monsters in the movie. I seen that James Woods movie with that vampire theme and it was a total waste of money. I even watched the movie "Street Fighter" by capcom based on the video game and it was really bad. What movies have you watch that were total duds?

but the movie Phone Booth wasn't what I had expected. So, I would say it was so so.Not a bomb but not great. They should really have a thumbs in the middle here for people like me who would not choose thumbs up or down! ( -----> )

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is more than just men beating up on monsters. The basis for the flick is what if turn of the century literary figures got together to fight crime as secret agents. Sean Conery is Alan Quartermane. Other characters are Mina Harker form Dracula, Tom Sawyer, The Invisible Man, Capt. Nemo and Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde (the monster from the preview). Based on a comic book I think this will do pretty well.

John Carpenters Vampires was a pretty good flick. A different slant on the whole Vampire thing.

I agree w/ Street Fighter and Phone Booth being bad movies. There is just no excuse for those movies being made.

Recent bad movies (in my opinion) K-Pax, xXx, Tears of the Sun, 8 Mile, and They.

I agree with you lonestar, That movie lacked good plot lines, and seemed to have "holes" in it, when the video game is consistant..I could have easily fallen asleep, but the dolby sound was a reason to stay awake, As far as I know, it is not even a good rental at the video store...it was definately a dud...The guy who took me to see it had a great arm to cling to during all the scarey noises;)...

I saw LGX on opening day with my ym friend.
Nemo's ship was cool.
I like Dorian Gray's house, and he was hot.
Sean was Sean.
Tom needed a haircut.
Mina was some WILD child...

Really, not what I had hoped.
It was one long fight fest with little plot.

One amusing thing is that the duke from Moulin Rouge is in this one, and he's not quite so ugly here...

suggestion=video.

This won't say much for me, but I did like 8 mile.
Kpax sux.

I'd rather talk about likes! :D

A friend and myself watched part of a film called Freddy got fingered which he borrowed from a colleague, we couldn't really work any of it out, and we found some of the 'humour' to be very untasteful; in the middle of the film it showed Freddy, delivering a baby who wasn't breathing, so he grabbed the baby's ambilical cord, and spun baby round his head, surprised and short of words we switched it off, gave it back to it's owner, who we're unlikely to borrow films from again.

Pearl Harbour was the worst film i have ever seen, I actually felt embarressed watching some of the scenes. the special effects where great but the rest, awfull. a true and awfull event came across like a comic book hero story.

But I'll tell you this people! No movie can hit more rock bottom than GIGLI! That Bennifer bomb set the standard for all turkeys. I wonder how many raspberry awards this movie will win? Heck "Manos: the hands of fate" got better reviews than that movie, some of you MST3K fans know what I'm talking about.

Though I haven't seen the movie myself, I've heard alot of bad reviews about it and that is why I avoided it thus far. One of the problems with that film is that they misled the audience with both the posters and promo's to believe that J-Lo and Ben were a couple in the movie when in fact, she plays a lesbian hit woman. Can they get any tackier?

This thread brings back memories of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K). I can't tell you how bad I miss that program. I used to watch it religiously every Saturday. Even got my girlfriend at the time hooked on it. I couldn't stop laughing at how they used to make fun at bad movies.

Did anyone see that George Clooney movie Solaris a year ago or so? Wow, that was so bad I was laughing through the second half (it wasn't supposed to be funny) and the ending was so stupid that the entire audience laughed when it was finally over. The whole movie was full of excruciatingly long close-ups of Clooney and the actress in it, and the plot was completely unintelligible. I think that would be my pick for worst movie in the past five years or so.

When I got home from the theater the original version of the movie was on one of those cable channels that shows older movies. It was in Russian with subtitles and it was more interesting than the new version.
