Lorena 07-11-2003, 07:21 PM As for me 35 years old would be the age I would love to stay with. At that age I still felt youthful, looked good and wasn't immature. What about you......would you choose to go back in time, stay where your at or go into the future?
I guess I would have to pick 33. My last child (my only girl) was born when I was 33 so I would not want to be any younger than that as I could not imagine my life without all 3 of my children. Like you Lorena, I think 33 is good as I still could pass for my 20's but I had more life experience and stability.
I really don't know if I could stay at one age though. Would I grow as a person? Would my kids get older? Would I meet my YM? I met him at 42. Hmmm....
singalou 07-11-2003, 07:37 PM 45 for me...im only 41...but im sure the best is yet to come=)
Peachy 07-11-2003, 08:41 PM Hmmmmmmm . . . don't know that I would want to stalemate at one age forever . . . every age and stage has been a growing experience that has made me who I am today. I don't think I would want to have stayed in one place and miss any of those stages.
Tyger74 07-11-2003, 09:55 PM Lorena,
I would like to go back to being 18 because there was some unfinished business that I wanted to take care of that wasn't resolved. There are things that I missed out on while being 18 and it would be nice to change.
yellowrose 07-12-2003, 12:34 AM Actually this age! I have never felt such peace (most of the time :D ) about who I am and what I believe in. I try not to sweat the small stuff and pray about the big stuff. I do what's in front of me for this day.... and at this age I do not have be gainfully employeed! YEA!!

Sugar, you can do that at any age . . . I did it at 50! :p
Lorena 07-12-2003, 07:02 PM Joe listen to your love she has a point you know (smile). Anyway interesting how the feedback so far has been said, first of all some of you are happy just where your at, and to me that should be admired, because actually we should be content in the now, but alot of us aren't. Second of all what amazed me is some of you are still looking forward to what is ahead......to me that say's no hang ups on the getting older thingy, and that makes me feel well heck maybe theres something to it, getting older may not be so bad after all. Third some like to go back and live life to the fullest, but again why not live it to the fullest today? Oh and the unresolved issues.......ummmm? I wonder if going back would make a differance, you see sometimes things happen for a reason if only we can see the whole picture? Perhaps someday! And last but surely some have stated they would not want to stay the same age, and what came to my mind is the movie FOREVER YOUNG, I don't know how many remember that movie or have seen it, Goldie Hawn plays in it not sure how her last name is spelled, of course it's exagerated but it's about two women competing over a man which its really against eachother, they both discover about a potion that keeps them young forever and drink it, now the woman explains to them to take care of themselves. Well they are very happy that they look young again and they cross eachothers path and one shoots the other making a huge hole in the middle of the abdomin, one falls down a flight of steps and is with weird body injuries, so with all the damage being done, and they can't die they rely on this man who so happens to be a cosmetic surgeon to plaster and do touch up paint jobs. Until this man tires and runs out of the situation so to make along story short they depend on eachother to fix up the flaws on the body, using spray paint, and so on. They got their wish to stay forever young but they had to live a life time with eachother in order to maintain and fix the messes created to their body, in the end of the story they are so busy arguing that they both fall down the stairs and one loses her head and the other is looking for a arm.......gross, but it may not be are bodies that we grow tired of but the fact that we don't experiance all the stages of what life has to offer., can be a real mess up. What do you think?
yellowrose 07-13-2003, 12:55 AM I'd like to be 21 again so I can start over with my life! Sweetie, you are only a few years past 21... You are just BEGINNING YOUR LIFE!! ;)
irparis 07-13-2003, 11:02 AM Its interesting, I have a friend who's 22 and he's ask me this already...wouldn't I want to be his age, so we can actually date.
I said, no way, no how...i was naive, stubborn, and totally unprepared for the outside world as i was shelteredly raised, fell for everything and everyone and learn life through quite a few hard knocks. Although I'm still growing at 43, 33 is the age I would stay at as it was the time of rapid growth and I realize then, what kind of person I wanted to be, in the last 10 years its been awesome.

Figaro 07-13-2003, 11:38 AM Maybe I'm all alone here... but I think I would like to be 11 again. Riding bikes, building forts, being convinced that girls have "cooties". All that stuff. There is nothing better than a nice blanket of ignorance. Your biggest worries were... what am I gonna do for fun tommorrow. If somebody pissed you off, you took your ball and went to someone else's house, knowing full well that all would be forgiven on the next day. You played games for the sake of playing them, which is the best reason.
In short, life was so much simpler.
Sure there is something to be said for growing as a mature person and coming to certain understandings with yourself. But what is wisdom compared to contentment?
Pure unconditional happiness for no particular reason.
It's raining, which means you will be happy, cuz that means there's gonna be mud. And what's not to like about mud? :)

My question too! I looked at your profile Paris and you are exactly my age and my BF is 21! Hmph to that 22 year old.http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/bonk.gif (Me knocking some sense into him) J/K...really though, why does he say that?
Lorena 07-14-2003, 09:02 PM I was tickled with figs response about being young again.........how fun no real concerns or worries, at least if we can choose a age for a time, wouldn't that be fun? And Nessa how precious about you and bigbri....all of you are precious in my book!:)
Jannie 07-26-2003, 09:38 PM I AGREE WITH THE AGE THAT FIGARO SAID AND EVERYTHING THAT HE SAID ABOUT IT, MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY ....:)
Lorena 07-27-2003, 12:22 AM Have you ever seen that movie in the tri -light zone? It was about old people in nursing homes, who a black man visited, somehow he gave them a wish to go back and be kids all over, it was sooooo cool to see these old people that barely could get around, go back into their childhood, they were playing hopscotch and swinging and all kinds of games, so when ever this man visited the nursing homes the old people would be transformed, Wouldn't it be cool to go back for a while or go into time on a timemachine? How cool is that?:)
Jannie 07-27-2003, 09:17 AM yes I did see that movie about the old people, it was great!!
whiterose 07-27-2003, 09:35 AM I agree completely with Figaro. My first thought when I read the question was that I'd like to be able to go back to my childhood when things were less complicated. The only thing that complicated my day then was when Mom called for me to come in and take my bath!
Polly 07-27-2003, 11:40 AM I'd have to say 32. That's the best shape I'd been in since my early 20's (had started working out verociously and dieting) and I just felt very comfortable with myself. If I could still have the rest of my life happen just the way it has since 32, including buying my house and meeting Robin, then, yeah, I'd like to have stayed 32. When you hit 40, it's harder to maintain your body and looks, plus you aren't as energetic. I like how much wiser I am, I really like me on the inside, but physically I felt much better at 32. :)
Lorena 07-27-2003, 01:09 PM nothing like paying a visit to the wonderful days of our childhood, not a care in the world, but then to return to where we are today. I had to chuckle at your comment in how you wonder how yw can be with an om unless it was like the om you spoke of, well maybe the yw wonders how a ym could be with an ow? hmmmmmm..........and Whiterose I hear you my daughter now gives me a hard time sometimes when I tell her that she has to take a bath, how tragic LOL.......and Polly the 30's are wonderful years, it takes no effort to be in shape and look good, but then hit that 40 mark and you notice the differance in how now you have to work at it if you want to stay in shape, although I have come across some pretty darn good shapes on women in their 50's, I know a woman in her 60's that is looking hot, there are few but their out there. My personal trainer that I use to have who has moved on to a better position is in her 40's and she is Hot! So yes with much more effort it can be done.:)
irparis 07-27-2003, 11:13 PM Well, tru/peachy...i think the reason I wouldn't date him is because, he's just too high maintenance at times, vegan, immature, short tempered (although he's worked on this alot, since he knows I hate unkindness), goes through jobs like I go through Snapple Grape...we're just not on the same page.
He's very intelligent, very loving with his mom, is credit card driven for which he must stay at the most luxiuous hotels 4 and 5 star hotels....he's me at 22...he also is not looking to have children until he's in his 30s and I've been ready for a few years now. But he's a great friend and we do alot of things together especially travel and I know he'll be a friend for life.

m20Va 07-28-2003, 02:08 PM 25, you are legally allowed to do most things, smoking is of no importance because i never have before, but youve already hit the 18 age mark for voting, the 16 for driving, the 21 for drinking/access to bars, and the most important, 25, LOWER CAR INSURANCE :D Im not sure on current draft laws, but at 25 arent you near the end of eligability for being selected if a draft were to occur? If so, the CHOICE not to put yourself in a deadly situation would be a large bonus as well.
chuck 07-29-2003, 12:00 AM 28, cause your old enough to have your career, wife, family, happiness, and your still young enough to enjoy all those things, but old enough not to ruin what you have, thats why 28 would be the perfect age to stay.:D
Lorena 07-29-2003, 01:57 AM And M20VA, Chuck, thankyou for your sharing........BTW I haven't seen you on before and I want to take this time to acknowledge you and welcome you. WELCOME!:)
m20Va 07-29-2003, 02:08 PM Thanks for the welcome, no I havent been on before, Im knew to the boards. Thanks for making me feel all cozy and welcome ;)
