Anyhow....we have two accounts full of characters on the Inny server....we fight for playing time around here with 3 who play Everquest and one who plays DAOC...geez..u'd think 3 comps be enough;) Just curious to find out....Have a great weekend all:)

but we play Runescape here. Same reason I started playing too. My kids friends think it is so cool that they have a mom who plays an online RPG. What about yours? When I am online they all message me. I am kind of high level and that is cool to them too. LOL!

Also...we have 3 computers and my laptop. We fight over laptop when we travel. LOL!

Two of my sons are Everquest addicts! I feel like I've almost lost one of the sons, because he is so addicted to it. What's the deal with that game?? No way am I going to try it out, because I don't want to get addicted, lol. At least the boys have been cutting down on their playing it. I'm glad, because they were starting to want to schedule their events around what was going on with Everquest at the time. Yikes.

well..it can become a substitute for real living...as real people play and it becomes a community of friends...as 'characters' are played by real people who invest real qualities of people. My daughter has met several of her everquest friends 'out of game' and they socially do things together. It IS advisable for PARENTS to limit the amount of time kids play as with anything else....as a parent who has played....any game can become addicting as well as many other things....if a child cannot balance game time with other things...then as a parent we have to help them set 'healthy' limits on the time they spend on ANY one thing. It is KNOWING when they are unbalanced or not that gets 'tricky'....but it is a FUN game to play...it you play for FUN and dont forget that it is a GAME

My 18 yr old plays a lot, but she will have to determine her own consequences for:D and a younger child that DID play a lot, but the graphics of too much time on everquest gave her migraines....:( when we finally figured it out and she quit playing....they went away....it was the strangest thing i've seen....but so glad it was 'correctable' so easily.

I put Cybersitter on my kids comps and I have allowed internet access only between certain hours of the day. It also monitors their chat and limits web site viewing. I would forget to say "time is up" or I would say "time is up" and they would say "10 more min" and then I would forget the 10 min and it would turn into another hour. Now they know their morning hours and their evening hours. (summer computer time, school year is different) So they know that at 8pm they can get on the net and they know that at 10 it is going to shut them down. No begging for more time. Over, done, period. :)

/high fives Singalou! :-)
/hugs Singalou!

Hi, my name is Gypsy and I'm addicted to Everquest! LOL

Been an EQ junkie for 18 months now.....but scaled back alot the last few months. Hey Sing, what server you on?? I have a 59 Shaman on THE RATHE and some twinked lowbies THE DRINAL.

It was my escape the last year of my marriage when I could not stand my reality anymore, so I understand how people tune the real world out for the virtual one. I find alot of people (including myself at one time) get so hooked on the game, because you have so much control in the virtual world. You can build tradeskills, collect goodies, do complicated quests, make numerous friends that will sit by your side and chat all night long while simulataneously playing.

When your real world is less desirable and you're feeling helpless, the virtual one takes on substitue for feeling like you have some control in your life, if that makes any sense......and the community of friends you build and the bonds formed are as strong as real life sometimes. I actually have met some of my EQ friends in real life, the bonds formed in the game were still very much there when meeting the person behind the computer.

One guy plays a wimpy, frail wizard in the game.... I walk up to shake his hand and he's this huge football player looking guy! I laughed and said it's funny how you associate the game charactor's image with the person by default, and in this case it wasn't even close, LOL.

Anywho, Sing........ what server hun? :-)

hehe, my main toon is SADORI, the fiesty barbarian shaman. I also have an alt, VASHERA, who is my naughty dark elf.

I know alot of guys that play females toons and have enjoyed giving them so much grief over it. We refer to them as "cross dressers", haha ....... I have not known many real women playing male toons. But have met many real men role playing playing females. The only explanation I get from them is in the game, there is a typical social thing going on (similar to real life) where females are treated differently and considered more in need of rescuing and such. The guys said they play a female toon and males will run by and hand them stuff or power lvl them without questioning what gender the real person is.... haha

I seen this happen before. The guys see tits and automatically assume it's a woman sitting at the pc, and start flirting and giving them things, or powerleveling them. I die laughing and watch for a while, and then inform the poor smuck that he is flirting with a guy and watch them freak. (me so bad)

Darn I was hoping we were on the same server. :\ Yes, send me a tell sometime. :-)

well the majority of players ARE MALE...so when females DO PLAY...they get 'favors' as in weaponry...ports....position for 'loot'...it is kinda funny that men will STOOP so low to be well equipped:D LOL...well glad to know u play...=)

I 2-box a 65 enchanter and 65 wizard on the veeshan server.

I started playing four years ago, because my husband did, and I wanted to see what the big draw was. As our relationship continued to worsen I used EQ to avoid him at night and in the bedroom. The game has lost it's zest for me, but the relationship that formed out of playing has grown, and I now play mostly to interact with someone else. ;)

David and I met on Ultima Online. A lot similar. We don't play anymore, but we still have our accounts active and once in a while drop in.
We got married there right before our second meeting in real life, for Valentine's day. We own three homes there, which he lovingly decorated. Turned out he's more domesticated online than I am, I prefer being out using my war hammer, and bringing home the loot. He loved spending hours stacking things to get things hung at just the right spots in the houses.
I started playing to be able to spend time with my son in Japan, in the Air Force. My other son played too, we'd have to big time hunts, the three of us, one 25 miles away, one half way around the world, and Mommy. They were forbidden to call me mom ingame, but they both loved to chat with other characters about their mean old mother who used to beat them regularly.
They both quit, my oldest in the service called it that addictive devil game. I kept playing, made tons of friends, and fell in love with someone who I'd never have connected with if we'd met in person first.
This is me there.

Darla,

I just cancelled my subscription to Runescape since Sims keeps me busy. I love this new game and I can't wait until Sims 2 arrives. Has anyone played Warcraft? I saw someone played it I am so jealous because the graphics is so awesome and makes me want to play it.
