Dallas TX Area SWM, 18, taking the initiative

About myself, I'm a slender, white male, 18, living in the North Dallas area. I have blonde curly hair, blue eyes, and I'm 5'7". I would be very interested in starting a relationship with an older woman, platonic or otherwise. I like people who are mature, people that are aware and intelligent and can think for themselves. I'm not into drama or anything like that, which is something characteristic to immature relationships.

I'm the artistic type, a musician, writer, poet, amateur artist, etc. You get the idea. I'm not a trend follower by any definition, and I read a lot, psychological books mostly. I focus on my music and on my writing, but I'm sure if there was someone worth my time, I would put forth the effort. I'm passive-aggressive (never been in a fight) and keep to myself for the most part. I'm a deep-thinker by nature, and as a result, most of what goes on inside my head I tend to keep to myself. I'm pretty sure I would let the perfect girl walk in and out of my life and not say a thing, though I'd probably write a song about it. ;)

I have pictures online at http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/tardbaby2003/lst?.dir=/Me

Talking to people on the boards, letting them know more about you will certainly be a nice way to make friends. This is mostly a support site, but I can tell you, we have had some surprising love stories here!

My official welcome to you!

Haha, thanks guys. It's good to hear from people out there that are interested. It makes me feel like I'm appreciated somewhere, given my lack of good fortune (or interest) with women in my age bracket. ;)

Welcome :-) Be sure to post on the other threads and let people get to know ya! Even though the site is geared toward people already in relationships, you never know who is lurking and what their status is. BTW, nice avatar!

I'm like that too bro, except I write a lot of poetry.

You lose major points for the Playboy pic. What on earth would possess you to advertise the fact that you ogle "female impersonators" (as this is not what real women are like AT ALL) on a site where you want to meet an older, mature woman?

Ah, but who else here has read Penthouse Forum?

The very first apartment I rented, my roommate and I used to amuse ourselves reading them aloud to each other, from a stash left behind by the former tenants.

Ooops! Thread hijacking!

Welcome to Ageless, Tardbaby -- I'm sooooo sorry that Canada and Texas are so far apart -- but I look forward to reading your posts!

Damn, I guess I should feel bad, considering I have boxes of collector's edition Playboy's and lots of OW XXX mags!!! :o

tardbaby

Haha, I never said I was above Playboy. I'm sure most of the women in that magazine are well over 18 anyway, and on that thought, I don't think I'd ever want to date a porn star in the first place. I'm young and I'm healthy, I'm sexually aware (though not too sexually active, by choice), I have looked at porn before and I will look at porn again, and may God strike me down if I didn't like it. :) I thought most older women would find that vitality and zest for living attractive, though the focus of the picture was more on the person on the left than on the magazine on my right. If I truly objectified women to that point, I don't think I would be seeking a relationship with women older than myself that inherently have more class (usually) than women my own age.
I am still breathing and have warm blood pumping through my veins, and don't seek political office any time soon. That in mind I also have been known to drive over the speed limit, smoke, drink, and buy cigarettes for minors. I've made both racist and sexist jokes, been arrested before, smoked weed before, and stole gum from 7/11 when I was 8. I've cheated on tests, written my name in wet concrete, and ran at the pool. And I've loitered, oh man have I ever loitered. Zest for living indeed. ;)

in your pic I think you look like Justin Timberlake. Do you ever hear that or is it just the pic and my tired eyes?

tardbaby
07-15-2003, 02:39 AM
To answer your question, yes, I get that all the time (about 3 times a day). :) I've got to say though, I don't think I'll get tired of the attention anytime soon. I'm glad to say our music doesn't quite bear the same resemblance, but then again, he's the one who's making millions. Maybe someday people will walk up to him and say "Hey, you look like that Austin guy!";)

I'm not going to bother getting into my feminist discourse, because apparently we have a thread full of sympathizers. But I will report that I received a lovely PM from a lady on this side of the board reporting that in her book, not only would you have lost points, you'd be out of the running automatically. She also said something to the effect of there being too many guys out there who identify with women's objections to representations like this to bother with those who don't (or can't). It's really quite simple, and ladies who look at these magazines (for men), ask yourself WHY you looked initially. I'm sure it wasn't because you were fulfilling lesbian fantasies....it usually lies more in the realm of comparison.

But best of luck to you, tardbaby. I DO NOT want to hijack this thread, but I do like to make pertinent observations.

Maria
07-15-2003, 04:15 AM
Well, Datura, I don't think it's fair to judge people just by the fact that they read porno magazines (very soft, by the way) as people being "for" the misrepresentation of women in the press. If you think like that, please stop watching movies where all the stars are beautiful and young and slim. Please, don't buy any cosmetic products that do exactly the same. Why is it that only the sexual image of a woman must shock us, but the perfect image, the top-model image, whatever, doens't.

I think it was very aggressive of you to write what you wrote to some guy that for once was gentle and polite. There have been other ads here much more virulent and disrespectful, and they get no reaction. Because people are more afraid of attacking a real j**k than a polite guy?

It's so much easier to scare away someone who is gentle, isn't it?

tardbaby

Observations are fine, as everyone is entitled to their opinions and the opportunity to have them heard by others. However, I do not seek sympathizers for anything I've said nor do I need any. I was simply stating an inevitable fact about myself, in that I am nothing but human, and anyone who seeks more from me than that which I am need not apply in the first place. If someone chooses to only take notice of those aspects of what I said and paint me with the 'anti-feminism pig male' brush, in contradiction of my saying "If I truly objectified women to that point, I don't think I would be seeking a relationship with women older than myself that inherently have more class...", I would like to kindly ask you of those two seperate observations, which bears more of an observation and which is based on an assumption. I don't think you were at fault in calling me on that, I just think that you and your friend misunderstood what I was trying to say. I would like to quote the late Ayn Rand, one of my favorite authors, from her book Atlas Shrugged on this one.
"Contradictions do not exist. Whenever you think that you are facing a contradiction, check your premises. You will find that one of them is wrong."
(Just looking for a place to sneak in an Ayn Rand quote, actually.) ;)

I prefer Penthouse for their pics, and of course Playboy for their articles. I adore literate men!

Well guys, look like some new stuff has come up and I won't be living in Texas much longer. In about 2 weeks, I'll be moving to Michigan. Unfortunately, I'm not going to have internet access in my particular corner of the frozen north, but I'll keep posting until then. Thank you all for the overwhelming positive feedback you've given me. You sure know how to make a guy feel appreciated. ;)

Hello -- from the even Further Frozen North........!

I would hate to lose a new guy who actually POSTS so soon (especially one who is relocating closer to my neck of the woods -- nyah, nyah ladies :p )

There is free public internet access everywhere these days -- find a library, any academic setting, job seeking resource centers (OK, OK, not supposed to be for personal use, I know).

Me thinks all you hornball women were a bit too much for the guy..LOL ;)

I'm sure he knows darn well that there are places to go if he wanted internet access...i think it was his round about polite way of saying...yikes down UBU down :p and this way he can slowly crawl away without ruffling feathers....then again...im known to be wrong quite often...LOL

Have fun in the soon to be snow covered frigid north:p

Ciao

Firstly I want to say welcome! I have to agree with the majority..quite the breath of fresh air! Mature, intelligent and cute as a button! ~laffs~smiles~

Secondly..I'm having a bit of a prob understanding the big deal with the playboy issue. I would rather think it odd if a guy never looked at one of those types of mags! I know my father...now 80 years old...still has them. And I have three boys, two in their teens and one in his early 20s, that have been hiding playboys under their matresses since the age of 13-14 years old! Yikes!! ~laughing~

And Joe...why is it you've stopped surprising me with your posts?? ~laffs~ I think I'd better visit my family in Dallas!! ~lol~
