OK - Guys,

Here goes it:

B called last night - looooooong talk. REAL talk. Decision made.
He's coming here on the 31 July, we're confronting my family and he wants to get married. He's been thinking and thinking and we've both now come to this mutual decision.

I know you guys may have a negative view on him because of all of this, and its something I certainly havent forgotten about and he knows that. But I think this will work and I know he's sincere and this will be good.

Now comes the daunting task of preparing to tell my parents, but after the hell ive been through its nothing im not prepared for.

This is what I was hoping for. I know most of the others have expressed very negative views of B, but for some reason, I never gave up hope for him.

I wish you all the best. Maybe you should meet your parents in a public place...less likely to be a huge scene and more likely a discussion?

Girl, I think a deep pain has been mended! I'm glad that the talk was real and I hope you didn't hold anything back. From the sounds of it you didn't because marriage was in the conversation. I'm sure B was just scared and had to sit down and really think about what he was about to do. Love truly conquers all....you and B are living proof. I wish you all the best with everything...and please keep us posted :D

Like a real GUY, I am going to interrupt here with something just so totally OFF THE TRACK - like when you are really concerned and emotional about something and HE points out some "UNFORGETTABLE" sporting moment that's just unfolded on the television...

... little do most of you know that some of us go to great lengths to spell our posts the USA way, just to do our little bit to help (since most members here are from the States and us foreigners are such a loving, feeling, giving crowd ;) )... words such as favourite, honour, cheque, terrorise, colour - MY GOD there are thousands of them... BUT -

...Both Morag_Phin in THIS THREAD and Danika in another, have used the word **** or ARSES! Like "He needs to get off his ****."

Now I thought it was all *** *** *** in the States. What the HELL is an **** doing there? And does that mean I can now use the term freely, such as "It's about time Happy4Me got off her polished, coiffured, fashion conscious A R S E and gave us a full update on her slash-the-wrists-world's-going-to-end-nobody-loves-me-suicide-pact".

And Munchie, since you're an Australian, you'll agree. THANK GOD B has got off his A R S E and is flying in to stand by you. That's great news! All the best.

I have one idea for the meeting....

Years ago I went to meet a woman that I had chatted with on the Internet. I met her at a Country Western Bar (no jokes out there) and we chatted for a while when 3 giant rednecks approached out table.

D introduced to her friends THE US MARINE CORP!!! We all had a good laugh when they determined I was worthy.

I think it might be a good idea to emulate her strategy and have a nice policeman nearby to stiffle anyones violent tendencies.

an interesting thought just occurred to me as well. Those of us OM here in touch with our feminine side, even sometimes only to the point of being aware that it exists, see the trauma that all of this has caused Munchkin, but perhaps for some men, they do not see the urgency which we all felt for this to be resolved. Just as some men do not remember birthdays - a natural trait for some I think, perhaps he simply didn't realize that the time he took to respond to the crisis caused all this commotion. He may actually think he is responding in a very timely fashion.

thats way i was mad. he did not stand up for.
