yeah, if anyone was born to play the 'tough guy' role, it was Charles Bronson. I liked him in The Dirty Dozen and The Great Escape.

Yes, I just read about that today...it just seems like the begining of the year, they're dropping like flies. They've been so many great ones gone, who blew me away was Gregory Hines.
Has anyone hear what's up with Luther Vandross?

Although I thought he was quite possibly the most unattractive man on the planet, I did like his work. I like the westerns! He was always so tough, so rugged!
Damn!!! All the cool dudes are leavin' us: Gregory Hines, Charles Bronson. . .

You're right Polly, he certainly wasn't a Hollywood prettyboy. He was a great actor tho, and in real life, he was a real softy, I think. I still remember seeing interviews with him and his wife, Jill Ireland, before she died. There was no question he was so in love with her and she was the light of his life.

It was definitely a shock to hear about Gregory Hines...such a versatile talent!
Charles Bronson was always the rugged actor with a heart of gold...

He was in a delightful movie called From Noon til Three with his wife Jill Ireland . . . one of the few, if the only movie, where he is not Mr. Machoman . . . a quaint little love story :)
