Does anyone know of anything that helps adult acne?? I don't have acne but sometimes I get these really annoying pimples and they just seem to take foreeeeever to go away. I wash my face with 'Clean and Clear' facial soap and use the same brand astringent (both for sensitiveskin)-and then I use the same brand facial moisturiser with salysic acid. So what gives??? AND I wash my face both in the morning and at night. I hardly wear any make-up and when I do I use MAC; so I'm not clogging my pores or anything. It just seems to be really bad lately and its annoying!!
Please help!

Bellalove, have you checked your ovaries lately? Adult females presenting recurrent "pimples" may be having some cysts in their ovaries (there's a syndrome called polycystic ovarian syndrome and it leads to hormonal problems causing acne-like symptoms among other things) and it's rather common, so I'd check that part, too.

Also, some kind of allergic reactions to pollen may manifest this way, causing skin problems. I have a friend here in Luxembourg whose skin is terrible during all wheat pollen season. Only a dermatologist can treat that properly.

I'm not in the US, so I don't know the products you have available there for your skin problem. But as I always say, nothing like the specialist. Get a consultation with a dermatologist, it will probably be just once and you'll have right orientation, which you'll be able to follow for a long time.

I never had a pimple until I entered my 20's. When I took a break from Depo Provera my skin was great. Though since I hate condoms and don't want anymore children at this time and love having nooooo period I have begun this again.... back with the pimples... anyone else find that their birthcontrol does this?

Though I have found the best thing for my skin was purchased at GNC... it is their vit C face gel. It is orange and AWESOME. I have only had one pimple this month.

Have had bad awful tortursome acne most of my life...also have poly cystic ovarian syndrome...however acne is only one small problem of PCOS - and a small one compared to the other worse thing that come with PCOS...however that being said if you are having alot of probs with acne I suggest trying PROACTIV SOLUTION...yes, it is the one Judith Light and Vanessa Williams use and promote on infomercials....I would have never believed it worked but I have spent $1000's of dollars on money to dermatologists and such for treatments and meds and it did nothing...then my cousin who was in med school suggested PROACTIV....I though, What the heck - I got nothing to loose...so I did it...that was 6 years ago and my face is amazing...I never thought it possible to have a radiant glowing acne free face...but I do!!!
It takes a few weeks to work and sometimes you have to adjust the doses of the 3 part system to fit your skin type...but it works!!! Try it, if you don't like it they will refund your money...plus they have a helpline you can call if your having problems and they can suggest how to use the 3 part systems differently to fit your needs...its is worth the price...because it works!!!

Ohhh! Thanks Raven!! I guess I will give a little update on this issue of mine:
After trying everything from Mary Kay products....Clean and Clear products....drinking ridiculous amounts of H2O, taking vitamins...... washing my sheets like every other day!! LOL I have to say that nothing has helped, until recently I decided to try this facial cleanser called, 'Purpose' that they sell at Longs or anywhere. It seems to be super gentle and nice to my skin; its definitally helping calm my skin down. I will combine this with using Raven's technique with the lemon and see what happens :-)

I just find it so frusterating that after a successful acne-free teenage life I could wake up one day at the age of 21 and find myself horrified!!! Why!!! LOL O.K> maybe I exaggerate a little, its not that bad. But, to have perfect, flawless skin would be a dream.

Bella,

I whent and saw a dermatoligst a few years ago, and she perscribed a lotion call Differn, It has worked wonders! It makes the blemishes go away in a few days, and I have VERY sensitive skin and it didnt react to this lotion at all..

I would seriously consider going and seeing a dermatoligist if you get the chance :)

Its also a good idea to see if its something in your diet. Tomatos make me break out! I have never heard of this, but I have seen it time and time again!

I have also found that many products MAKE me break out, so I just keep trying new ones until the break-outs stop. I am having very good luck with Pond's Dramatic Results Advanced Anti-Aging Care Active Hydrating Cleanser with Alpha Hydroxy, Retinol and Vitamin C. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT NAME???? No, I don't look any younger but it doesn't cause break-outs!

And, an aside, there are many shampoos that CAUSE dandruff and shampoos that CAUSE matting and snarling. When I run into one of these problems, I know its the shampoo.
