Do you prefer honesty, even when it hurts?

a true friend can tell you anything and everything honestly. But when I'm feeling kinda down....I don't mind if they tell a white lie to make me feel better :D

Definatly!!! Because the truth usually surfaces one way or the other and I think it would hurt more to find out later your friend or so lied to you iin the first place....

I can see white lies when its nothing truely important.....of course you don't look fat in that dress!:D

But when it comes to deceiving or hiding things from each other, Then that can be the complete downfall of a relationship.......I'm sorry I never told you about the sex change, I just didn't know when to bring it up!

Maybe its because my first love hid lies from me for so long untill she finally told the truth. Or maybe its because I have always been honest with others and just expect the same in return?

But to me honesty is probably the main key issue in a relationship.

I pretty much agree with rolls. Little harmless lies: okay. Big hurtful lies: not okay.

Yes, I always prefer honesty. I live my life by a very simple credo - I try to be a better person every day than I was the day before. I don't always manage that, but I try nonetheless. The only way you can do that is if you're totally open and honest about you're own faults, so yes, I greatly prefer people to tell me what they really think, and not to hide anything.

With that said, I usually prefer that they're constructive about it, rather than just downright mean. ;)

I prefer honesty at all times; even if the truth hurts. I don't always like what I hear, but I'' get over it. I'd rather be honestly hurt for a moment than lied to or tricked for an infinite amount of time, ya know?

for me, it we're talking about in a relationship I expect honesty at all times, however much it hurts but if its between friends then I don't mind the little white lies occasionally. I've been very badly burned in relationships before now because of constant lies so nothing less than honesty is good enough, luckily I know that with P he's always honest, however much its hurt before. yes, he's said things that hurt but I love him the more for it. Sorry, I'm rambling here :o As for me, I always try to live by the saying "always treat others the way you'd like them to treat you" Take care
