Hi Everybody, I was asked to post this for CBS News - The contact information is included if anyone is interested.
Regards,
Rob

Hello,

I'm a producer with the CBS News prime time news magazine show "48 Hours Investigates". We are interested in interviewing a couple ....older woman/younger man about their relationship. This is segment for an hour program airing in January 2004 about the ever changing roles of women and what they're are doing to empower their relationships and sexuality.

I know Oprah Winfrey just aired a show with fabulous couples talking about their relationships. We would like to profile a couple who is willing to share their story with national television. We're a bit different than the Oprah Winfrey show, because CBS News "48 Hours Investigates" is a documentary style program. Instead of a live studio interview, we would travel to the couple and spend time shooting their home life and at work. We would also like to intereview the couple in their home.

We are looking for a couple with a great story.

Please let me know if you are able to post this request on your website message board. If you have questions or would like to know more about the story, I can be reached via e-mail or by phone at 917-273-6208 or 212-975-7556. I would be interested in speaking with you before posting a message. You also might have interesting ideas about approaching this story.

Yours Truly,

Marcie Spencer
Producer,CBS News, "48 Hours Investigates"

Thank you, Trish. I responded to the post already. We'll see what happens. I'm sure that there are many other couples here who would be a good choice, too. This sure is fun, though, and it feels so good to know that people are finally starting to try to accept these types of relationships - *finally*!

Lorena, I had just posted a bio of myself in the "introducing ourselves" thread in the chit chat section less than one hour before I read the post about the show, so I just sent the producer the bio. I added some things to it after I sent it to her, though, like the stuff about the acting/film experience.....oh well; if it's meant to be, it will be.

Brian if you are referring to those shark attacks heard 'round the world 2 years ago off of New Smyrna Beach, Florida...that was not a joke nor media hype. I live here and it was real...not JAWS real, but none-the-less, surfer and swimmer in the mouth REAL. And what is so flippen weird, is that I heard on the news today that a family is suing our county because we did not WARN the people of those shark attacks and their kid got a small bit and a scratch from one...sheesh.... only in America!

Did I read your story correctly???? Were the ages correct? Was this your son or step son's best friend? If so, you were a mother at age 13 or 14?? Just curious....as that may explain... well....many things.

Whisper, I wanted to jump on the band wagon and cheer you on! I think you would be perfect. Shows like people who look good (your being a model helps there) and people who are nice and articulate. I really hope they pick you!

I would have applied, but I can't see them coming here and taping US, the Cincinnati hillbillies, Robin chasing the rooster all over the yard because he's pissed off, my daughter whining from dawn to dusk, my son in all of his teen-aged angst, and ME, stressed out and trying to take care of everything, going in ten different directions. It WOULD be like the Osbournes, that is, if they lost everything and moved into a 3-bedroom ranch in the heart of the midwest! :D

Thanks for the compliments, Polly. I think, though, that it would actually be pretty wild around here, too. We have two boys in their teens and one boy who is almost 13, my 77-year-old mother who can't walk or even sit without help, two dogs, 4 cats (one is a new kitten, who is totally bonkers), two rabbits and a hamster. The cameramen would probably been tripping over all the animals, lol.

Whisper,
Your reply to Polly is exactly why you and your love would be perfect of the show...you two and your lives are so NORMAL !
OW/YM relationships have been viewed with ridicule as if they are freakish for so long, it's about time the world hears (sees) the truth. For gosh sakes, gay relationships are becoming more accepted now, mixed race relationships are accepted, OM/YM relationships have been vanila for years....our preference in who we love and why islong over due for acceptance by society.
I think it is crucial that 48 Hours chooses an attractive couple, with a typical life, who is articulate and able to portray our reltionship choice as NORMAL.
I am going to be pulling for you guys big-time...no, wait, I'm going to be PRAYING that you get chosen. WE NEED THIS, and you two are couple of our best ambassadors!
:)
Hugs and Hope

Thanks, Special K. All of the replies from everyone have been so nice.

Today I was driving my mother all over the place for lab. work, picking up medical supplies, buying stuff to repair things on her house and so on, and when we returned after having been gone for most of the day, I thought to myself that this house looks like a cyclone went through it! Today it doesn't look like normal people live here, lol. But, then again......maybe this is how most busy peoples' homes look. As a matter of fact, I just stepped on the poor kitten's paw on my way over to the computer to see if the Agelesslove site was back up yet (I've been having withdrawals, lol). The poor kitten practically flew through the ceiling. This place is a zoo. I don't know if I'd consider this household very normal, lol! I have to go and take care of the kitty now........
