Okay so we have threads about should people live together before there married and so forth. But my question is, how long do you think people should live together before there married?

For me, T and I have lived together for almost 9 months, and we have talked about getting engaged, and even tieing the not down in jamaca in march. Its just when I have mentioned this to some people, they tell me 9 months is to soon...

So I was just wondering what your thoughts on this is? :)

I don't think it's time.... I think it's what you feel in your hearts......Put it this way.....My husband and I met in Oct... We started dating Feb 14, 2002.... and were engaged August ,2002 ( 7 months later... and then We Lived together in October, 2002.... and now August 2003. we are married...... So its yes been a year and a half before we married but less than a year that we lived together........

If you guys both unconditionally love each other, respect each other,,, you can't see yourself ever with someone else... all your doubts you've ever had about the relationship is gone... and when your secure with yourself and him then IT'S ok to get married... Your heart will know when you are ready to marry there is NO time limit on love :-)

Good Luck sweetie!!!

Softiee,

I have to agree with MerA, I don't think theres any set amount of time because that just may vary from couple to couple.

At 9 months together I'm sure you both have a good understanding of each other now. You probably know all the habits of your man and so forth. I would say personally that you've been together long enough to be ring shopping (at least to me).

To me by getting an engagement ring shows the fact that he's commited and has all the intentions he says he has (wondering if your man would like to hit me now for my big mouth) what can I say......when its love...its love!

Marriage its self can take time, planning, finances, schedules even picking the right season....so on. To me its nothing to be rushed so that hopefully it can be the perfect day you have always dreamed about.

Just my .02 cents.

Don

Hey softee, Some people dont even live together before they get married , they wait til after they are married! Its a personal preference. If you think that you know eachother well enough and you see eachother married..then why wait? You are confortable together and able to share space with eachother then why not. I agree, I dont think it matter how much time, you just know!!
