If you had 45 - 60 days to do anything, but you had a modest amount of cash, what would you do?

I am trying to decide what I would like to do this coming summer with my vacation. Being a teacher has its perks!

So, what would some of you do? I need ideas!

So far, I have 2:

1) Ride my bicycle across as much of the USA as I can.

2) Hike as much of the Appalachian Trail as I can.

I would like to travel to Austrailia and wander around the country, but, I have a modest amount of money!!!

Plus, anybody up for an advernture this summer?

Take care.

now if you said 45 yo 60 days to LIVE I would have come up with something. 45 to 60 days to VACATION??? Hmm.. It would definitely involve backpacking. Unless I was rich. Then it would involve snorkeling in the Carribean. I LOVE SNORKELING. Even more than backpacking but backpacking once you have the equipment is virtually free. JUST LET IT BE NATURE. Oh heavens I miss it so much. This has been the worst year of my life. NO NATURE.

I'd do the hiking/camping route...it's a lot of fun. (and less hard on the tushy!). I too am an educator and try to get away during the summer months. This year I went to New Mexico. Hoping to save up to go overseas this next summer.

Try New Zealand. The airfare's not bad nowadays to Auckland and the currency exchange is much in your favor :>

Travel. I would love to go back to China, and I'd really love to go to Japan. There are many places that I'd love to go to. I can't stand the thought of my life ending without having seen every place on the planet first, lol.

Maybe I would buy a round the world plane ticket, to stop off at all interesting places; I have a fascination with Russia, I would want to go to some rural places and mix with the locals, next stop Nepal, to see how these wonderful people live, and see some sights in the Himalayas, then to India, they have my favourite food from anywhere in the world, and they make very inventive furniture, next to Australia, I get on very well with Australians, I think we are on the same wavelength! and to see their amazing countryside and some deadly snakes! stop over in New Zealand, I hear it's a beautiful country, then to South America, probably a few northern countries, Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, etc, they have some exciting cultures to experience, and see what’s left of the Amazon forests, finally to central Africa in the bush, it has always seemed like a very mysterious place to me, and I could go out on safari, and last, travel back to Europe on my 59th day, phewww, what a trip in 60 days!
