Hi, I was just informed my dad had passed away. My half sister is only 15, she went to check on him and found him dead. I didn't live with him, never have. I still loved him though. My half sister isn't taking well it at all.

They determined he had been dead two days in his apartment, no drugs or anything found, he lost his battle with diabeties. I was half asleep when they told me. It's my sister that im worried about. Im taking ok but im very sad.

Thanks for all your support and everything, this has been the most friendly forum ever!

Thanks Bye

Dear Gary,

It's good you care about your younger half-sis. I know it's hard on both of you. A Dad whether you lived with him or not, is a great loss. I'm sure you both wish he had not been dead for a few days. It makes everything seem even sadder.

I have a close friend who has a very severe case of diabetes, as well. I never knew how dangerous this disease could be on every level.

Be there for each other, you and your sister. You're Dad is at peace now.

Many hugs

Hey Gary,

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. As difficult as it is to lose a relative, hopefully you both can find some peace of mind knowing that he is no longer having to battle this disease and is in a better place now.

Gary...thanks for letting us know. I, too, am very sorry and your compassion for your sister is overwhelming. Just talk to her and let her know that you do care about her...be available to talk by phone since you dont live with her...invite her out for dinner or a movie....she may not talk right away, but she will definitely need someone to show her love and care now. Take care and lots of hugs to u!

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I too lost my father in the same way. He was found dead after being unaccounted for two days. The coroner told us it was probably a heart attack.

He and I were not close the past 15 years, but I took it very hard when he died. So, I understand how you feel.

My deepest sympathy to you and your sister on your loss.

I surely will pray, I know how you and your sis feels I just lost my dad too, and I really miss him and yes it is sad....but what gives me strength and comfort is knowing that my dad doesn't have to suffer anymore and YES without a doubt, he is in a better place....I pray that the Lord give you and your sis an inner peace, strength, and comfort knowing that your dad isn't suffering anymore. May the Lord give you and sis the courage to never give up on life when trials come your way but may you grow and remember and carry in your hearts the love of a father or in your case the knowing of your father's existance to remain in your heart forever. My deepest regards to you and sis.

Gary, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Yesterday my sister's Father-in-law died also. She was really close to him as was his sons and daughter. May God's love enfold you and your sister as you two go through this time in your lives.
Barbara
