Ahh, the 80's. I loved my little pink and purple legwarmers that I wore to gymnastics and with all my dresses. And, of course, my Strawberry Short Cake lunch box with matching thermos that made the milk taste funny after a few hours. How about the Beverly Cleary. "Ramona" books
It is funny when I see my husband's old clothes and pictures. I love the pictures of him in his old tight pants, leather jackets, and huge sunglasses leaning against his car and the pictures of him in Hawaii in his nice short shorts! Ahhh so cute!
Sometimes it is funny to think of him out partying, drinking and me just learning to walk, talk, and begin school.
When he finds something new he has had tucked away he always asks how old I think it is. My response is easy, "Older than me." :)

EMCAD80
11-07-2003, 12:58 PM
Ah! Gremlins! I once had a nightmare about Gremlins and till this day...I still won't watch the movie. I must have been 5 or 6...my parents were still married.

In my nightmare my mom was pregnant (scary enough...I love being an only child) and she told me to listen to the baby move. So I put my ear up to her belly and a Gremlin jumped out and tried to eat me!

LOL...silly I know...but scary for a 5/6 yr. old.

I have a shiz tsu....and he looks like a gizmo...all cute and cuddly!

I used to love Paula Abdul (Rush, Rush) was one of my favorite songs!

Rhadamanthus
11-07-2003, 12:58 PM
Gizmo kicked ***! Furby was just a cheap knock off! And I still say Gremlins was the best Christmas movie ever. Ok, maybe second, right behind It's a Wonderful Life.

What I loved about the 80's:

MacGuyver

Metallica in their prime
Arnold
Eddie Murphy was still funny
The A-Team

My Three Sons was in the 60's, Em. So you watched a lot of Nick at Night too, huh?

I think it's funny that so many sitcoms in the 80's were about people adopting orphans. What a weird trend for tv shows.

Nothing bad, I hope. Well, looking at VH-1 reminded me of some pretty bad memories. Who can remember:

New Coke

MOVIES (bad movies, no doubt):

"Clash of the Titans"- One of my personal faves but really bad and cheesy special effects in it.

"St. Elmos Fire"- Sorry, was never a fan of pedophile Rob Blow. Now Demi Moore, on the other hand.
