Do you wait to get sick to go to the doctor?

I'm always surprised to see how few people do their annual visit to the doctor.
Do you wait until you get sick?

It kinda depends - I normally try to do my annual (or at least regular) check-ups - however, sometimes I am just way too busy at work to find the time to see any doc - it's like "ok, too busy this week - let's make an apointment next week" ... and this kinda can drag on for a few months then :p - longest has been 1.5 - 2 years though, and I am now catching up on all my checkups :p

/edit: hm, not sure what to vote for :( does the principle mean I do regular check ups even though i am not always following through with it or do I have to vote yes?! ;)

Carazy... :D ....can you repeat that question?

It's maybe because I'm sleepy, but I can't understand it! :D :D I've been a bit slower lately!

My bad, I really didn't phrase that well ;)

Ok, my question was: my "principle" is to go for an annual checkup - but i don't always follow it through - does that mean I have to vote for option "yes" (only when sick) or "no, I do it regularly" (although I don't always, even tho I want to in principle) ;)

Hope that clarifies it ;) I kinda feel I cannot really vote for either option :D

I have to go to my dr's every month for my BP checking, so I can't get out of all the regular check ups like blood tests and anything else he decides I need doing. Take care :D

I think you qualify for the one who goes to the check up regularly, even if it's not perfec?

I go yearly, but to my gynecologist. And he does a pretty good check up, so I don't worry much. :)

I only go when there is something wrong Maria. I don't believe this is a "male" thing on my part, i.e. terrified of going in case you get bad news, but more of a British thing perhaps.

It can take so long to get a five-minute appointment with a GP where I live that it often feels like you have to see blood or have something missing before you'd consider it

And my gynaecologist is useless!!!:)

That's maybe because you have nothing he can use?

Well, I can honestly admit that I see my doctor at least every month. But then again, that's because of a current injury that I have........LOL

Prior to my pre-surgerical requirements, I had only gone to see a doctor for a complete physical when I was starting my straneous workout program and I wanted to make sure that my thyroids and blood sugar was normal. So I guess I'm one of those who will see a doctor only when he's sick.:(
