31. I went to college in a dry county in eastern Kentucky. The only way for us to buy booze in that county was to drive way out into the "hollers" (translation = hollows) and find the bootleggers. There was a very popular bootlegger there named "Sweets". He was a dirty, greasy, very large man who sat all day in a little plywood shack selling booze illegally to underage students like me. It was kind of exciting to take the risk of going there because his shack could be raided by the police at anytime.

18. My favorite opera role was Elizabeth I. I was 18, a size 8 and wearing this HUGE 275 costume with a gigantic wooden slatted hoop skirt - I couldn't even SEE the stage. My headpiece without the crown - we're talking just the wig and the jewels weighed in at about 50 pounds. The crown added another ten pounds. I had headaches, back aches, bruises and I still sang - every night for three straight weeks and two matinees on Saturday and Sunday. lol One time in rehearsal? I actually stepped OFF the stage because I couldn't see it and fell straight down into the orchestra pit - I landed on both feet, completely unhurt because the skirt was so blasted stiff and heavy it basically umbrella'd me to the floor. Unfortunately, the outfit prohibited taking the side stairs up to the stage so I literally had to strip down to my skivvies and go back on stage while three stage hands carried the stupid dress back up to me. lololol

Oddly enough, whenever I do get the table completely cleaned off, it just seems too "naked"...can't figure that one out.

I do the same thing Lynn,
As a writer, if one is to pose any kind of "mystery",
one must first plot the murder.
I am more attracted to mystery type scenarios and so I tend to
dream up murders and crime to write about.

I think we are all facinated with murder, thus the popularity of
TV shows such as "CSI", which is one of my favorites.

You are not strange or alone at all!

Me too Dee! I think the reason I actually NEED a man is so I have to clean the place up from time. I am mostly a clutterer. When I go to a girlfriend's house it is always so neat and clean - a place for everything anad everything in its place! My friend told me she had taken down all her curtains and cleaned all the curtain rods and their little hardware thingys - took them off the wall and soaked them. Washed all the windows, inside and out. Taken all the knobs off her kitchen cabinets and soaked them and cleaned the cabinets inside and out and was mad at her husband because he only cleaned two windows and mopped the floors.

Poor guy!

But my place is eclcetic, interesting, warm, and yes, messy. I don't know how someone can keep their flat surfaces so tidy as most of my friends. It's just not in me. Maybe I have AADD or something. Maybe there is a medication that would make me more organized!

My house has areas that get rather cluttered with papers, books and other type things, but never filthy things.

Now my vehicle on the other hand is a different story-
I keep my vehicle immaculate.
My biggest pet peeve is a car littered inside it with fast food bags, junk and other crap.
I can't stand the gas gauge getting less than a quarter of a tank either and I clean the inside of my car daily and the outside gets a washing weekly, (my kids do it for me).

I sincerely think I did that as a way to get back at my ex-husband who always asked about that stupid car after we divorced as if it were his child, while it was ME who was making the HUGE monthly payments. We had just bought the car 8 months before I booted him out for having an affair.

One time when I let the trash pile up in it, he made a snide remark to me about it, so after that, I made it a point for the car to look trashy just so I could turn my nose up and tell him it was none of his business and I could keep MY car as trashy as I liked!!:p

It was getting pretty late in the evening and nearly dark when we arrived there. So, it was difficult to see any signs, and the traffic was heavy. We were both nervous wrecks, afraid we'd get lost. I remember we ended up in a neighborhood and we stopped to look around and we both saw this huge mist rising up over the rooftops. We followed the mist until we found it and that was Niagara Falls. I just always thought it was so cool how we found it... not by signs, but by following the mist. We only stayed about 45 minutes -- just long enough to see the falls just prior to nightfall. It was magnificent.

30. That is SO cool Whiterose - when my youngest was 6 mos old we drove out to Maine to see my family and on the way back WE stopped at Niagra Falls too! Only it was day time so it wasn't hard to find. <G> It was SO pretty. I'd like to get back there some day. . .

40. When my oldest son was small we would frequently have the same dreams. At night he would call out. I woke up remembering for example a dream of bugs under a log, millions of bugs and worms.

I went into his bedroom to comfort him and sobbingly he told me about a dream with bugs and millions of worms under a log.

This happened many times.

The same thing would happen to my youngest daughter and I. Or I would be thinking something about her that I needed to tell her and she would say....'did you say 'something?'. It was if we could hear the other one talking in their brain!

42. I may have posted this earlier in this thread, but it's gotten so big I can't remember! :( But. I have always had very perceptive abilities. When I was 10 years old, my grandmother and I were visiting her brother in Minnesota. We were preparing to go boating on the lake. I heard the phone ring in the kitchen and I immediately said to my grandmother, "Pappaw's dead". I don't know why... it just came to me. Sure enough, it was a phone call telling us that my great-grandfather (my grandmother's father) had died.

43. Same here.
Especially between my Mother and myself and also my oldest daughter and me.
Call it a "Mother's Intuition" I guess...

I would be having troubles in my life and the phone would ring and my Mother would be on the other line and the first thing she would say after I answered the phone is "What's wrong?"

I have the same gut feelings when it comes to my daughter, Sarah.
I always get the urge to call her when she is having troubles.
I "just know".
My Mom says the same to me about it,
that she "just knows" when I am having hard times and need her to call me.

61) throughout my life i've had:

1. cat at 4 dissapeared at 11. had another one from 12 died last june.
2. turtles at 11, guess they comitted "turtle suicide" cause i found them upside down in the water.
3. had 2 parakeets at 10. then Disappeared...was told they died cause of the cold weather in the patio.
4. had a lhasa apso("mop dog") at 11 but had to give it away five moths later because everoyones out of the house early in the morning and wouldnt be back till in the evening. making it hard to care for it. I still regret giving it away.
5. had plenty of hamsters at 14 but cat some how got to their cage... and i had to pick up their remains. i didnt even know they were my hamsters at first. my cat often likes to kill birds or mice and bring them to me.
6. had about 20 rats at 6, but was too young to care for them. primarily my father cared for them. eventually we just set them free or gave them to the pet store.

so in conclusion....i love animals but fate of animals does not love me....

IF were still on pets here, I grew up with 17 cats and 10 dogs. We used to take in abused and abondened animals. We would nurse them back to hell and try to find GOOD homes for them, but alot of times we would get to attached and they would get attached to us, and well they ended up living the rest of their lives with us :}

I loved reading this incredibly long thread. I had no idea it was so freaking long and then I couldn't stop.

So here are some tidbits:

I believe in good ghosts and am constantly alert for beloved family members to come back - so far - none!

I did every drug imaginable in my teens and twenties. Thank God I lived. I mean EVERY drug.

I once was driving down the freeway as a teenager when the hood of my car flew up into the window. I was very stoned however so it was not too bad.

I am a horrible clutterer. I had an emotional breakdown this weekend though which is a big deal. I cried and finally asked for help from Greg. Never, ever cry so I broke pretty bad. Anyway he has been helping alot and will continue this week to help me unbury myself.

Someone described the tables of paper - whewy! That's me.

I have no tattoos and no body piercings.

I can have an orgasm at the drop of a hat - lucky me. Never been a faker except for in my early days.

I forgot to do the number thing. Someone help me; what number is it?

Cindy
