Just checking in

Hi all :)

I haven't been writing for a while, as i had no new news, and everyone pretty much knew my situation with my roommate. Maria told me to check in though, so I thought I would.
Andy and I are still roommates, and have become friends. I accepted the fact that we were only meant to BE friends, and I think we care about each other a lot. He still has his gf, but I've gotten used to that.
I recently met someone. He's 35, so he's still a YM to me, hehe. He works security at the hospital I work at on Tues., and my best friend works there too. He was in the office talking to her one day when I got there, and I thought he was cute, but really didn't talk to him.
A few weeks later, she asked me what I thought of him, and I told her he was attractive. When she asked me if I'd be interested in going out with him, I said sure.
We went out the Saturday before Thanksgiving for the first time, then went hiking the next day. He's amazing! He has a three year old son from a previous marriage, and it's SO nice and refreshing to watch him play with his son; he's an awesome father.
I haven't really spent much time with him when he has his son, because we want to make sure we're staying together for a while before introducing someone new into his life, but I have seen interaction, and I can say, I AM impressed. :)
He seems to be a wonderful man. We hit it off right away. I feel I can pretty much tell him anything, and he seems to truly LISTEN to me. I've always been a pretty good listener myself, but it's nice to have someone listen to me as well.
Two Saturdays ago, we spent the day on the beach. We walked for three hours with lots of sun and no wind. If anyone knows Oregon at all, they know it rains constantly here in the winter. But it wasn't raining that day. Until we stepped back in the car. The second we did, it started a downpour.
He said God must have made that day for us. I think he did. :) I'm starting to really fall for this man, and for only the second time in my life I get the feeling that someone truly cares about me. He's wonderful. He's the most romantic man I've ever met, which is a bit surreal at times.
I hope we continue to do well together. We've only been seeing each other now for about a month, and if that month has been any indication of the future, I'm a lucky lady.
Thanks for being here to vent to, guys. I really needed all your help to get through my situation with Andy.
I hope you all have a good holiday season, and good luck in the New Year!

Nice to hear from you. It is good to see how even after a bad time in one's life, there is sometimes a rainbow after the storm.

Best Wishes,

Tru

Good to hear from you! I remember that you were in a tough spot with Andy, but you did say he was a good roomie, so hopefully that doesn't change.

The new guy does sound promising -- I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! :)
