girlengr 01-20-2004, 10:40 AM Hi to all.
I've been more of a side-line person here at ageless, but have been enjoying reading every day even though I post infrequently.
I found this site last spring when feeling very confused about my new relationship with a guy 17 years younger. Then I lost my job (of almost 20 years! - I had my husband almost that long, too, and lost him - maybe there's a pattern!)
Happy to report that YM and I are doing fine, and I start a new job tomorrow. I'll have less time to keep up with things here, but I'll stop by often enough.
ukfireball 01-20-2004, 12:15 PM Congratulations Girlengr! and good luck with the new job.
BearsAngel 01-20-2004, 02:45 PM Congratulations on the new job and on being happy!!
It's nice to see a happy post where things are going well. We might have problems and worries, but we also have wonderful times.
I hope things go really well for you at the new job and that it proves to be exactly what you want it to be.
Peace,
Jane

It seems like a wave of love and happiness is bathing the agelesslove beach and I am so happy to see this! Congratulations, girlengr (what does your nick mean, btw?)...
girlengr 01-20-2004, 04:34 PM Thx to everyone for your support.
Maria - I'm a "girl" and an engineer - I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I've worked in manufacturing my whole career - very unglamorous, but I love the work. Tough to work in such a male dominated field, but it suits me, and I do manage to keep a feminine side about me at work.
When I was thinking about my "name" for ageless, "mfgchick" was another option, for manufacturing chick, but I went with Girl Engineer.

I'm sorry to hear of all of your terrible losses, girlengr. I'm very glad that everything is working out for you now. CONGRATULATIONS on your new job and I wish you the best with it and your YW.

personally i would like them. I always have been a sucker for intelligent women. Very sexy.:)
whiterose 01-27-2004, 04:55 AM Hi Girlengr... Am very happy for you that things are looking up. Sounds like you're going to have a better spring this year than last year. :)
girlengr 01-27-2004, 04:46 PM . . the job continues to go well, so that's a big plus.
Whiterose - thx for your kind words. Last spring was when my YM and I got together, so spring has a nice feel to it despite the recent joblessness.
Youngguy - thx for saying that intelligence can be a turn on. In the reverse, it definitely is!
bubbleee 01-27-2004, 05:35 PM To you!
Great to hear you have a new job and your relationship is going well.
Like Jane said, it's SO nice to hear happy things. 'Sides we ladies deserve the best! We have paid our dues.
All the best to you girl!

want to come over sometime so we can discuss scalers and vectors and some mechanical physics?;)
girlengr 01-28-2004, 06:20 PM I recall heat transfer and fluid mechanics from my student days.

ah yes, nothing like thermodynamics to heat up the night....;) what did you have in mind?
girlengr 01-28-2004, 09:56 PM . . . . I didn't do well in thermo (either term), so I may need some help on that front.

hehe, neither did i. The class was so curved that a 60 on an exam was like a B+. We could always just make our own thermo-dynamics by just sitting on the couch. Any objections?;)
girlengr 01-29-2004, 08:55 PM Mmm . . . my YM might not take kindly to my heating things up with someone else - - especially someone in his "backyard" (he lives in NYC and I've thought that your "914" was a nearby area code (yes?)).
One nice thing about engrg school and my resulting career - always lots of guys to look at - some even worth the look.
FYI - YM is a biomedical engr by degree, but has morphed into a techie/computer geek - very cool.

that's not my area code but i am pretty close to nyc. As for your YM, we can keep this on the hush hush:) if you know what i mean...;)
PinkCat 01-30-2004, 03:13 PM Behave, you guys! ;)
This reminds me of my university days. I was dating (and eventually married, then divorced) a mechanical engineer. In those days he was always studying courses with names like, "Heat Transfer", "Fluid Flow", and "Vibrations."
Boy, would his parents bug him! "I was at the U studying Heat Transfer with my girlfriend." "I'LL BET YOU WERE, hahahahaha!!"

pinkcat, why don't you join in the fun with me and girlengr? We don't mind a third...it could actually get very interesting--to say the least.;)
