SmilinGal19 01-20-2004, 01:36 PM What was your favorite cartoon character when you were little?
I know that when I was little I used to watch Rainbow Bright, the Smurfs, The Care Bears, and tons others that I can't remember.
I used to watch tv until the cartoons were off the air. I guess you could say I was a cartoon buff when I was little...except the cartoons that were on cable.

tfix6658 01-20-2004, 01:50 PM When I was little and which I still like to watch are the Smurfs, flintstones, scooby doo, and the snokels. Well the snokels are not on anymore i dont think.

PinkPanther_04 01-20-2004, 02:26 PM Snokels? I remember The Snorks. They were sort of like underwater Smurfs only with more girls.
I liked the Jetsons, but I was always jealous of them. Driving around in their fancy flying cars, and telling poor Rosie what to do all the time. Who did they think they were? They were even worse than that Richie Rich kid!
I mostly watched the regular stuff, I guess. Popeye, Looney Toons, Yogi Bear, Fat Albert. That kind of stuff.

Softiee19 01-20-2004, 02:41 PM Batman! I had the bigest crush on him growing up :D
mizstress 01-20-2004, 03:34 PM The most original pick-up line I ever heard was' "If you could have sex with any cartoon character, who would you choose?"
I Loved Johnny Quest!
Remember that one?
I know...my "age" is showing..
:p
I loved 'The Flintstones" too, and still do.
Oh, and "Touche' Turtle"
LOL
mizstress 01-20-2004, 04:13 PM I could sure use "Inspector Gadget" around the house, yard, and garage...my sons seem to magically lose all of my tools...
I always thought being Veronica in "Archie" would have been great (shows how shallow my childhood desires were...money, beauty, popularity). If I said my favorite was "Richie Rich" would my preference for wealthy young blond men be too obvious?
MadBess 01-20-2004, 05:55 PM the best cartoon characters, HANDS DOWN, of ALL TIME:

TheChosen1 01-20-2004, 07:24 PM Do sci-fi cartoons count? OOOPS, I want to include "The Transformers" but I forgot. I was about 25 when they were on TV.

Foghorn Leghorn.

A plastic knife, I say a plastic knife that is."

Er, on topic - I remember being small and 'Prince Planet' was the absolute bestest of bestest shows ever! The bestest. Er, best. (Although a friend of mine recently showed me it on tape - and God knows how he got it - B&W - and it was - er, it was - listen, it was really great when I was about 5.)
A bit later - 'The Herculoids'. And since Pink just made me fall off my chair laughing - I will add that 'The Jetsons' had me glued as well.
datura81 01-21-2004, 03:39 AM Longleg Fonghorn?
I'm getting the idea that this cartoon was about a guy, maybe an ex-pirate, who lived in a lighthouse and had a wooden leg with a shoe horn on the end of it?
Am I close?
Did he listen to Fog Hat, eat frog legs or play the French horn?
I'm stickin' with Rainbow Brite. And She-Ra. Remember He-Man and She-Ra? I think they might have been close cousins of Tarzan.
"Me He-Ra, you She-Man, Ru-Paul-RA!!"
PinkPanther_04 01-21-2004, 08:24 AM Yeah, I had all the He-Man and She-Ra action figures. They were cool.
BTW Datura, Foghorn Leghorn was the giant chicken from Looney Toones. He was (in my mind at least) sort of a combination of Elmer Fudd and Rodney Dangerfield. Only in cartoon chicken form.

Just thought I'd ask about that one....since so many are being brought up.

TheChosen1 01-22-2004, 12:29 AM Okay, so I've made a few mistakes with the names of several cartoons that I haven't seen since the previous decade.

NOPE, CORRECTION:
There is an episode where he knocks on Bugs Bunny's door and hands him a business card that says, WILD E. COYOTE.
PinkPanther_04 01-22-2004, 07:38 AM It's actually Wile E. Coyote.
It sounds like "wily."
Get it? (wily is a synonym for "cunning.")
It's funny. :D

I'm somewhat surprised that Google wasn't smart enough to spell correct that for you. They're amazingly good at that, even for stuff I wouldn't have expected.
I don't know about you guys, but just once I'd love to see the coyote feast on roadrunner stew!
All the old Warner Brothers cartoons were awesome.
Referring to a picture of Daffy Duck on the wall
G'Kar: I was studying this image. Is it one of his household gods?
Zack: (laughs) That's Daffy-- Yeah, well, in a way I suppose it is. It's sort of the Egyptian god of frustration.

Now moving on to bigger and better things.
Like how to deversify my stocks and James Bonds.......LOL
Does anyone else watch this show besides me? I love Brian the dog. He cracks me up! I can't believe they took this show off primetime tv. They only have it in cable which I don't have! Arrrggghhhh!

Surprisingly, there was an episode where the Coyote catches the Roadrunner. However, his success lasted for a few seconds as the Roadrunner escaped again.

Okay this has gone way beyond forgetting cartoons from your youth!
Its Jessica Rabbit you know......"I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way!"
Don
It was either that or get another name wrong and we all know where that was going to go. So I figured that I would just show you guys the map so that you would all know where I was going.
But be that as it may, thanks for reminding me of the correct name.
Rolls,
Do you know who played the voice of Stewy? He is so funny! One of my favorite epsiodes was when Brian and Stewy were in the airport and missed their flight and the funny part was when brian used a credit card to get them back home!

Just thought I'd quote myself since I didn't get any answers to my question. Maybe this time I will.
PinkPanther_04 01-29-2004, 01:49 PM Captain Planet and the Planeteers!
Of course I remember that! Captain Planet was awesome! I think that was the only environmentalist cartoon ever. There should be more shows like that. I looked it up and there's even a Captain Planet Foundation that gives kids grant money to study the environment. All the money comes from licensing and merchanidising profits.
Captain Planet says, "The power is yours!"
