Question about this board

I just went to my control panel, to update my signature. And on it, over on the left, is a screen that says "buddy list". Now, I've never even used this thing, nor do I even know how to. But on it, was a person's name from here that I have never even talked to. Well, the person PM'd me once to apologize for an ugly response on a post, but that was it. I have PM'd some of the girls here (babes, swan, etc) back and forth many times, and they have never showed up on this buddy list. But this person I only PM'd once to say "that's ok" and that was that. So, how did the name get on the buddy list??? I'm just curious because although it matters not now, this could have been a very big deal to my S.O. had he ever seen this, and I'm kinda ticked that it happened without me doing it. Any thoughts on how this might of happened or be prevented?

Is it possible that you accidentally added them to your buddy list? The button is so close to the search button that possibly you were searching or editing and accidentally hit "add to buddy list"? I know this has almost happened to me a few times.
