Just wanted to say...sorry

Sage

Hi Friends~
I just wanted to say I'm sorry for the grumpy mood
I am in today.
Many of my posts were edged in sarcasm and I probably
should have just stayed away from the threads.

Ageless has been in such a good mood around here-
with so much love "happenin",
I hate to have my grumbly mood bring anyone down.

So, if you are feeling cheery-
you might not want to read this post.
Danger! Danger!
Click out now!

I try to keep my spirits up-
but I got some news today that really bums me.
My dentist told me I need yet, another danged root canal.
Grrrrrrr!
You see, my teeth are whacked because of the
physical abuse that occured to me in my 20's.
You get your jaw cracked and your teeth knocked
around- it does some major damage,
and much of that damage occurs later in the years.
My teeth look okay, but they are not.
The damage was done from the inside out-
from the roots and in the jaw.
I've been dealing with this pain and the hassel
of going to the dentist for awhile now.

Plus there is a thread at Ageless dealing with abuse,
of which I have been posting,
and it brings a lot of the pain from those terrible years
back to me.
Plus this teeth thing,
I have a ton of bitterness that is hard to shed at times.

Plus I started a new job,
cooking for a catering company and I really like it.
I haven't been there long,
but the owner and the crew I work with are super.
Well, except one gal,
and she started the same time as I did.
We are both new.
I doubt she will be there long because of what
happened to me yesterday.
I'll explain:
She leaves a half hour after I get on shift.
Her job is to slice meats, prep veggies and things like that,
while my job is more of the main cooking and baking.
Anyway, she is one of these "know it all" people
that talks constantly about what a talented Chef she
is and goes on and on about all the great places she has
worked, etc..etc...
As a matter of fact, her mouth is always working over-time
instead of her working!

Well, she had left her shift and I went over to wash up a rondo-
which is a big "cooking pot" and the pot sink was filled
up with dirty dish water and the slicer that she had
dismantled and never fully cleaned or put back together,
which is supposed to be done before she leaves shift.
I reach in to do it for her, as this thing is in the darn way,
and I slice the HE** out of my right hand.
She had put the BLADE in the dirty water in the pot sink!
Any good Chef or cook knows you DO NOT
put any kind of blade or knife in the pot sink!
Thank God it was my right hand, as I am left handed.
But, it was a gusher and I got blood everywhere.
Not to mention it hurt like a MoFo!
46 stitches and now I can't work.
That's kinda why I've been hanging around Ageless a lot.
Can't work and have these lovely pain pills that I am
taking for my teeth and hand.
The catering company is paying for it all..
and I won't be fired or anything, but it sure made me mad.
This gal is such a DITZ!
They better let her go as I don't want to work with her anymore!

It hurts a little to type if I use both hands.
The cut went across my palm from my index finger down
to about where my wrist starts.
A palm reader will have a lot fun "reading my future" after I heal up from this!
I never realised that I could type so well with just my left either!
LOL

So anyway,
I thought maybe I should explain why my mood has
been so sarcastic.
I do hope I have not offended any of you.
I'll do better...promise.

It hasn't stopped me from still planning a nice
Valentine's Ball for you all.
As a matter of fact, I am working on that tonight
as these pills make it so I don't sleep all that great.

I really am happy for all you folks who are
"Lucky In Love"!!
I don't want to "rain on anyone's parade!"
May your love last forever and ever!
:p

What a terrible thing to happen. OUCH!! Sorry to hear about that.

I always teach my children to keep all sharp objects out of any dish water for that very reason. I also cut the hell out of my hand once while washing dishes.

And, the root canal thing would bother me, too. I hate going to the dentist and had a root canal once without any benefit of an anesthetic and would rather go through natural childbirth again than go through that.

So, take lots of pain pills and hope you're feeling better soon.

Awww Sage,
I know that your hand has GOT to hurt. I really hope that it begins to heal up and feel better for you. I honestly dont think I have ever known anyone to need that many stitches!! I cringed just reading what happened.
Big Hugs to ya and please take it easy!! I hope "The Ditz" realizes she needs to take her work more seriously and she settles down, or gets the boot. Maybe this will be her wake up call, or her exit.

As far as a root canal, I've never had one.
In my early 20's I was told I needed one, but due to lack of insurance, I had the tooth pulled out. It was way in the back of my mouth anyway. All I remember about that experience was alot of pressure and funny sounds...sort of like a wet ballon being squeezed!!! I heard that same noise again during my C-Section. LOL I am not sure what that noise is, because Im always very well anesthetized!!
Take good care of yourself hon, and pamper yourself!!
:D

Awwww Sage...I'm sorry to hear about your teeth and your cut hand. Wow, that sounds like a big ol cut, poor you!

Yeah, the abuse stuff gets me down, too. Sometimes I log on, and start to cry so hard I have to log off again. It's such a process, trying to put things behind. Some days are great, others....shadows creep up to haunt. We do our best.

I love reading your posts. I'm going to print out your Food thread...that stuff all sounds so good. I'm so glad you're here....

hugzz and better dayzz to ya....

Hugs Sage! Incompetence at the end of a shift is known for causing all sorts of accidents. I hope that your company recognizes just how much this woman is costing them in a lot of ways.

I sympathize with you on the teeth issue but in a minor way - I have a fake front tooth and had to go through 1-1/2 yrs of surgery to get it all done. I hate dentalwork!

Heal well...take vitamins to help the process. Keep your fluids up so that you don't catch a cold in the meanwhile. And take care of yourself!

Dang, Sage...

That SUCKS! *Hugs*

Hopefully, you'll get this crap with the teeth straightened out fairly fast (no pun intended) and hopefully, no more visits...

And, I really do hope your hand heals quickly. That idiot'ess, should be fired for being so careless and wreckless. That could of turned out so much worse! Not that 40 some stiches is anything to laugh or make light about, but had that blade cut differently, that could of been tragic...

*Hugs*

Sorry to hear about you hand Sage, 46 stitches is a big cut, I hope it gets better soon. I also hope they do something about that stupid woman, I also work in a kitchen, and if anyone does something like that, if they are lucky enough not to get fired, then they would be posted to floor cleaner!
Let's hope you will be able to get you teeth sorted out for good, I know what you mean about not looking after them when you are young, I am in my 20's now, and as a teenager I never looked after mine, but I take good care of them now; I have a friend who likes opening beer bottles in his teeth, I keep telling him not to, as I think he's gonna regret it one day!

Sage you are one of the brightest lights on this board, if you dim occasionally.. lol... well we are big enough to deal with it.

God knows we all dim once in a while and you have plenty of reasons.

I just wanted to let you all know how
much I appreciate you taking the time to
leave me your supporitve words.

I must admit,
my hand is much more sore this morning
than it was last night.
Those pain pills really do the job!
(I haven't taken any yet- but think I need to)

Yes, I did get a lot of stitches-
there were areas that she had to stitch
in layers.
That is how my Dr. explained it to me-
I did not watch.

I'm lucky though,
she told me I didn't suffer any nerve damage.
I am very grateful for that.
I had a girlfriend that decided to carve a pumpkin
the day after Halloween and the knife slipped,
cutting her real bad on her other hand.
She cut a nerve and has had the worst trouble ever since.
That was my biggest worry after getting cut.

My boss called me this morning to check on me-
she is such a sweet lady,
and that gal has been let go.
I figured that would be the case.
In a kitchen, there are just some things
you cannot tolerate.
Plus this girl was a wash-out when it came to
getting her job done and didn't do a very expert job
when she did.

Thanks again friends,
you guys are the best!

Sage...

I bet when you hung up on the phone, you started thinking of that woman and said...

"Na Na Na Na...Na Na Na Na....Hey-Hey-Hey...GOODBYE!
Na Na Na Na...Na Na Na Na....Hey-Hey-Hey...GOODBYE!"

Sage....

Everyone has a right to have an off day, and be in a bad mood. Im really sorry that this incompetent lady caused the injury to your hand....she definitely should have known better.

*hugs* I sure hope your feeling better real soon. Im down and out myself with a case of mono...of all things. lol

Awwww Sage! I love your posts! We can't be Mary Sunshine every single minute! If you were, I'd think you were psychotic! :D

No wonder your cooking thread is so good, you do it professionally!

Have fun with the pain pills. When I had my appendectomy, they gave me Vicodin. I called them my "happy pills"! :)

Sage, I hope that you're feeling better by now.

Polly, my mother takes Vicodin 4x a day, every day. I wish it had the same effect on her as it did on you, lol. She is a chronic complainer:(

Jody, I had mono when I was a teenager - they called it the "kissing disease". You must be really tired. I hope you'll be well soon.

Thanks to all that posted your kind and supportive words here.
It means a lot to me....

I am feeling ..okay.
My hand is at it's worse in the morning.
I wake up to it throbbing with pain,
(yes, I have it elevated at night), and it
takes awhile for the edge to wear off, but I'm doing well.
I try to not take a lot of the vicotin as it upsets my stomach.
I only take 1/2 a pill if I really need it.
It helps.
It can make me feel happy one minute, but then
terribly annoyed by things the next...

Joannalee-
Mono, oh no!
You get lots of rest now!
Boy, my oldest son had that and it dragged on
with him for a long time.
He was so wiped out.
DO take care of yourself and I hope you
have a speedy recovery!!

Thanks again friends!
