You all know that I am a Chef.
I do enjoy cooking and I love going
out to eat too.
I do tend to be rather picky about the
quality of the food I am served-
but that is only because I cook for a living
and know the "good from the crummy'.
I am curious as to what your
favorite cuisine is
for a fine dining experience.
Just a little fun poll
for somethin to do on a rainy day...
:p
Oh-
and if I failed to list your favorite fine dining
type of restaurant in the poll,
please tell us what it is in your post here.

Sage,
Good question. I love a variety of food. I am going to list it out to make it easier.
1. Sushi
2. BBQ
3. Prime rib(Medium rare)
4. Greek food(falfel, beef kabobs, pita bread and hummus)
5. Dim sum
I really love this place called Daphne's here in orange county. They serve greek food for $7-12 and it is worth it.

I was raised in an Italian household. In between my father and my aunts, we had some of the best Italian cuisine ~ to this day I love Italian food, as bad as it is for me.

None of the above ............... My favorite places to eat r tiny family run restaurants tuck away in remote villiages in places like Southern France, Italy or Rhodes.......... The food is almost magical, fresh, peasent style cooking ...... in one place u ordered what u wanted to eat in the afternoon, then came back in the evening we ate fresh Sage stuffed chicken that had been sent to the local baker's oven to be cooked served with a glorious fresh salad, exquisite locally pressed olive oil an a misshapen lemon straight from the tree served as dressing :D .........
As a rule I don't eat out...... I, too, was a chef an know good from bad an also know what it cost to prepare.... To be honest I would rather spend the money on good quality, fresh organic food an prepare a banquet to be enjoyed at home or al fresco :D .....I can happily dress up in a stunning frock an eat a picnic in the woods :D :D :D

Sage... I did NOT know you were a chef.... very very cool!
My mom at the age of 50 went back to school to get her culinary degree from the CIA in NY.
Now she teaches classes and does catering gigs. Nice to have a gourmet chef in the family ;).

I voted for a waterfront restaurant with seafood, but I also love restaurants that prepare beef well, like grilled filet mignon or Chateaubriand.
I liked every kind of restaurant listed, actually, but my top two were seafood and gourmet beef restaurants.
We sure had a lot of votes for Mexican! I like to prepare Mexican food at home, fajitas, burritos, nachos supreme, and don't forget the marguaritas!

There really wasn't a choice for me on the poll. My boyfriend and I have a favorite date restaurant called the India Palace. We go there at least twice a month. It is intimate, softly-lighted, painted mauve and turquoise with one wall entirely mirrored and subtly decorated with plants and Indian statues, etc. They play classical Indian music in the background. The food and service are superb and it is not very expensive. A lot of couples go there because the atmosphere is conducive to romantic dining.

Japanese it is! I just adore Japanese food. And when the restaurant is good, it's more than a zen experience; it's a sensual experience. :)
