How to Post an Avatar

1) The first thing you'll need to do is make sure that the picture you are trying to put up as your avatar is of the right size. It can be no bigger than 100x100 pixels and the file size must be smaller than 10,000 bytes.

2) If it is not of the proper size or dimensions, it must be resized. You can do this yourself using a graphic editing program. Some graphic viewing programs even have the capability to resize. If you do not know how, or feel uncomfortable doing so...you can email me the picture at: Dan.Shues@gmail.com and I will resize it for you as soon as possible (usually within a few hours of you sending it) and will send it back to you right away.

3) The picture then should be saved onto your hard drive.

4) You'll then want to make sure you're logged into ageless. You'll go up to your "User Control Panel" and click on the "Edit Avatar" option on the left...

5) You'll go down to the end of the page, and click on where it says, "Change Avatar"

6) Go to where it says, "You can upload an avatar from your computer:" and click on "Browse." Browse your computer to where you saved the picture. Click on it, and then click "Open"

7) Click "Submit Modifications" and VOILA! You should be good to go!

Dan, I just sent you a photo that I could use your help with. I'm trying to resize it so that I can use it as an avatar. It always ends up with too many pixels. I only have a paint program on my computer - I used to have Photoshop or something like that; my son still has it on his computer, but he's too busy to do the photo for me; I've been asking him for over a week. I've got to learn how to do this stuff myself.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Dan, I tried to upload an updated avatar yesterday...followed all the above instructions but it didn't change the pic. I have resized the pic and it does fit in the required format , but for some reason it won't upload.

When you resize a picture you have to make sure it is under the dimensions of 100x100 pixels...but, you also have to make sure it's under the file size limit too...which is 9.8 KB.

To see what the file size of the picture is...right click on it and choose properties.

All the requirements are met..its only 7.8 KB and its under 100 by 100 pixels. Still nothing happens when I hit Save Changes. :(

Hmmm...

What if you choose, "Do Not Display at Avatar" on the avatar editing screen. That way, that deletes the current avatar. THEN, try uploading your new avatar. See if that helps any.

Anytime I try to do anything with it at all...I just end up with the "cannot find server" message. Ah well.

I've tried both entering a URL and uploading from my machine but all I get is the following message:

POST requests from foreign hosts are not allowed.
