How do I delete a thread that I created? (as well as delete a poll in a thread)

Unfortunately, since our recent upgrade, members are not able to delete their own threads anymore. So, you'd need to send a private message to a member of the moderation team to request that they take care of that for you. Just remember, when you ask us to delete a thread that you create, it does remove other members posts that would have been written in response to your thread.

By the way, I have edited your poll for you to include the missing years. If you still need it deleted, just send me a PM.

Is there a way to search for a member's name anymore? My memory is so bad; I used to use it to find the name of people to whom I wanted to send a PM after they hadn't posted for awhile.

You go up to the top of the page and there you will find a drop down menu callled Quick Linksand under that one you will find Miscellaneous and member list
You can also use the Search menu I think!

About the other question I'm afraid the only solution to that is to delete your posts (or account) I'm not sure if it's possible to the last one

Anyways, Most people I know in real life would not be able to find me online because it is not common knowledge what I call myself on the internet, but if they do that's fine too... because I have never said something on the internet that I couldn't say in real life.

So the best thing to do if you worry about people get to know something about you from the internet, then create a username that noone can recognize you by and not leave to much peronal info about where your from and putting up pictures of yourself and your family....

Oh, okay, I thought maybe there was a "trick" to hiding our posts.

I understand what you're saying, but it's still very creepy to find out that everything you've ever posted is there for non-members to read. It's weird. I wish I could say that I was 100% confident that I had never posted anything that might be embarrassing somewhere else!

    deleting membership

hello. could someone please tell me how i can delete my membership here? thank you.

I do not know of a way to delete an account as a user, but I'm sure the admins can easily remove accounts and posts because this site is database driven and such a feature is necessary for removing spammers peddling things like cialis.

Regarding privacy, know that Google, Yahoo, Alta-vista and many other search engines (there are about 150 at the moment) all use a "spider" to comb through the posts and generate keyword lists.

This is necessary because that's how new members find Ageless in the first place - a search engine.

A "trick" I learned more than a decade ago is to use different screen names or handles for every forum that you participate in, therefore they cannot cross-linked by the search engines.

For example, my handle here is "Truckman", a handle that I use nowhere else. If you were to google for "Truckman" any non-Ageless references are simply not me.

I participate in about three forums at the moment, all three have different handles.

Another very important thing is when you post, you must leave off personal information. No phone numbers, no addresses, and try where possible to refer to other people in your life by their first initial or a pseudoname or something along those lines. Instead of referring to your girlfriend whose name is Suzanne, you could use Sue or Suzie or even rename her entirely to "Marie" if you're truly paranoid. No one here cares what your girlfriend's name is anyway, therefore doing so is completely harmless.

The latter I don't do myself often enough, but oh well :-D
