Well since superstar encounters has been mentioned.

When I was little, I was sick in the hospital and someones mom was on the same floor as me. This man payed me a visit.

    His name was Johnny Cash.

My cousins know lil Johnny pretty well. FYI (those that don't know) Lil Johnny is Johnny's son.

And I'm hear to tell you what Johnny might. Walk The Line ain't half the story, for the rest ask Lil Johnny or a man named Billy Graham.

Ah, classic rock. I was definitely born in the wrong era, because it's my old standby.

In no particular order, my top 5, most "singable", adored songs ever recorded:

    1. Nights in White Satin ~ Moody Blues (OK, maybe that's my definite number 1)

    2. Free Bird ~ Lynyrd Skynyrd

    3. Just about anything by CCR (LOVE "Proud Mary")

    4. Baba O Reilly - The Who

    5. John Barleycorn ~ Traffic (had the privilege of seeing Steve Winwood in the 80's and hear him bring out some of the band to do most of the "John Barleycorn Must Die" album. Truly awesome)

Honorable mentions: Ripple ~ Grateful Dead; Black Dog ~ Led Zeppelin; anything by the Eagles ( "Hotel California" and "One of These Nights" are great albums)

    Like A Hurricane

    by Neil Young

Once I thought I saw you
    in a crowded hazy bar,
    Dancing on the light
    from star to star.
    Far across the moonbeam
I know that's who you are,
    I saw your brown eyes
    turning once to fire.

    You are like a hurricane
    There's calm in your eye.
    And I'm gettin' blown away
    To somewhere safer
    where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but
    I'm getting blown away.

    I am just a dreamer,
but you are just a dream,
    You could have been
    anyone to me.
    Before that moment
    you touched my lips
    That perfect feeling
    when time just slips
    Away between us
    on our foggy trip.

    You are like a hurricane
    There's calm in your eye.
    And I'm gettin' blown away
    To somewhere safer
    where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but
    I'm getting blown away.

    You are just a dreamer,
and I am just a dream.
    You could have been
    anyone to me.
    Before that moment
    you touched my lips
    That perfect feeling
    when time just slips
    Away between us
    on our foggy trip.

    You are like a hurricane
    There's calm in your eye.
    And I'm gettin' blown away
    To somewhere safer
    where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but
    I'm getting blown away.

    Look out, Mama,
    there's a white boat
    comin' up the river
    With a big red beacon,
    and a flag,
and a man on the rail
I think you'd better call John,
    'Cause it don't
    look like they're here
    to deliver the mail
And it's less than a mile away
I hope they didn't come to stay
It's got numbers on the side
    and a gun
    And it's makin' big waves.

    Daddy's gone,
    my brother's out hunting
    in the mountains
    Big John's been drinking
    since the river took Emmy-Lou
    So the powers that be
    left me here
    to do the thinkin'
    And I just turned twenty-two
I was wonderin' what to do
    And the closer they got,
    The more those feelings grew.

    Daddy's rifle in my hand
    felt reassurin'
    He told me,
    Red means run, son,
    numbers add up to nothin'
    But when the first shot
hit the docks I saw it comin'
Raised my rifle to my eye
    Never stopped to wonder why.
    Then I saw black,
And my face splashed in the sky.

    Shelter me from the powder
    and the finger
    Cover me with the thought
    that pulled the trigger
    Think of me
    as one you'd never figured
    Would fade away so young
    With so much left undone
    Remember me to my love,
    I know I'll miss her.

    Wasn't Born To Follow

    performed by The Byrds

written by Carol King & Gerry Goffen

Oh I'd rather go and journey
Where the diamond crescent's glowing and
    Run across the valley
    Beneath the sacred mountain
    And Wander through the forest
Where the trees have leaves of prisms
And break the light in colors
That no-one knows the names of

And when it's time I'll go and wait
    Beside a legendary fountain
Till I see your form reflected
In it's clear and jeweled waters
And if you think I'm ready
You may lead me to the chasm
Where the rivers of our vision
    Flow into one another

I will watch her dive beneath
    The white cascading waters
She may beg she may plead
She may argue with her logic
And then mention all the things I'll lose
    That really have no value
In the end she will surely know
    I wasn't born to follow

    The Story In Your Eyes

    by the Moody Blues

I've been thinking about our fortune
And I've decided that we're really not to blame
For the love that's deep inside us now
    Is still the same

And the sounds we make together
Is the music to the story in your eyes
It's been shining down upon me now
    I realize

Listen to the tide slowly turning
    Wash all our heartaches away
We're part of the fire that is burning
And from the ashes we can build another day

But I'm frightened for your children
That the live that we are living is in vain
And the sunshine we've been waiting for
    Will turn to rain

Listen to the tide slowly turning
    Wash all our heartaches away
We're part of the fire that is burning
And from the ashes we can build another day

But I'm frightened for the children
That the live that we are living is in vain
And the sunshine we've been waiting for
    Will turn to rain

When the final line is over
It's certain that the curtain's gonna fall
I can hide inside your sweet sweet love
    For ever more

    Cowgirl in the Sand

    by Neil Young

    Hello cowgirl in the sand
    Is this place
    at your command
    Can I stay here
    for a while
    Can I see your
    sweet sweet smile
    Old enough now
    to change your name
    When so many love you
    is it the same?
    It's the woman in you
    that makes you want
    to play this game.

    Hello ruby in the dust
    Has your band
    begun to rust
    After all
    the sin we've had
    I was hopin' that
    we'd turn back
    Old enough now
    to change your name
    When so many love you
    is it the same
    It's the woman in you
    that makes you want
    to play this game.

    Hello woman of my dreams
    This is not
    the way it seems
    Purple words
    on a grey background
    To be a woman
    and to be turned down
    Old enough now
    to change your name
    When so many love you
    is it the same
    It's the woman in you
    that makes you want
    to play this game.

Jackson Browne - Doctor My Eyes

Doctor, my eyes have seen the years
Through the slow parade of tears without crying
    Now I want to understand
I have done all that I could
To see the evil and the good without hiding
You must help me if you can

    Doctor my eyes
    Tell me what is wrong
Was I unwise to leave them open for so long?

As I've wandered through this world
    As each moment has unfurled
I've been waiting to awaken from this dream
People go just where they will
I never notice them until I've got this feeling
That it's later than it seems

    Doctor my eyes
    Tell me what is real
    I hear their cries
Just saying "It's too late for me"

    Doctor my eyes
    Cannot be disguised
Is this the prize for having learned how not to cry?
