Eurovision Song Contest.

Hey, everyone! *waves*

So who saw the Eurovision song contest last night?

Anyone here actually went to Istanbul to see it happening?

England didn't do so well

I think it's become more of a Eurovision DANCE contest in place of 'song'. The countries which did better were the loud dance type performances so that is why i say what i said :D

What are your views on this?

Personally it's called a SONG contest so shouldnt the votings be about things like the singing, lyrics and music ..rather then who can dance the best without the most clothing on

Jeez!!!!

Please share your thoughts.

I liked the lyrics of the Albanian song by Anjeza Shahini.

Image of You

How strange the feeling in your soul
When love invades your very being
Another “me” or so I’m told
And life takes on another meaning.

Day after day, I go through the motions,
Stumbling my way, life is a blur
Slave of my love, of my emotions
You’re in my eyes, you’re in my heart

One kiss, one heartbeat, in time,
a kiss, the moment, is mine.
I close my eyes, I breathe
I’m Queen of the world of Make Believe!!

You make me feel, a little crazy
You make me see your tears are true
You make my days and nights so hazy,
You make me feel the image of you.
Choir: You make me feel
Soloist: a little crazy
Choir: You make me see
Soloist: Your tears are true
Choir: You make me feel
Soloist: Image of you

I know it’s just a dream I feel, l love, this life.

Hi Meena.

We recorded the Eurovision contest yesterday on Turkish TV and will watch it during the week. We already know who won, though. We had seen them the night before on the Beyaz show. I didn't think that they were that hot. They weren't very original, kind of like a Janet Jackson copy. You are right in their respect about the dance aspect. Actually, I really liked the Turkish entry, which I have seen several times in the recent past. Once I have seen the show, I will know more.

P.S. I wish I could have gone to Istanbul to see it!

Hey, Patricia!

I totally feel the same way. I don't thing Ukraine were that hot either..she looked like soemthing out of Xena: the warrior princess....hehe (sorry to anyone who liked it, just my opnion). I actually missed Turkey's performance  Though i will get the DVD once it's out for sale as there are a few performances I liked.

I so wish I could have went too....Istanbul looks beautiful and the contest looked like hell loads of fun too. Another time, ey? :D

Who won? :( I missed it!

The Ukraine won. We have watched part of the tape. So far, I have liked only Malta and Ireland and Russia. The rest are all pretty lame. One problem is that they mostly sing in English. It is more like a copycat competition than a true international competition. The songs lack the original flavor of their country. I must admit that Ukraine does have some Russian flavor even though it looks like a Janet Jackson copy.
