Thanks ILove... In a month now I have lost 15 LBS :) I just went today to get weighed in!!!!!! |
Well heres my contribution!
First of all snacks, some things I like are fruit salad I cut up and put balsamic vinegar and a pinch (really just a pinch) of sugar. Corn on the cob, microwaved then cut off the cob and salted. No butter. Its Soooooooo gooood. These are perfect snacks. And not the usual boring cottage cheese or yogurt stuff. Salads without any dressing or if so, a tiny tiny bit, its amazing if you toss it how far a teaspoon or so goes (if that much , sometimes I drizzle less). I made one today, its chicken, spiral whole wheat pasta (made sure it had high fiber and protein, yum!) low fat mayo (can use full fat its better tasting but not as good for the waistline), salt, pepper, a cucumber and a stalk or two of celery. Mix it all up and there ya go, a really healthy thing to eat and its filling (I bake the chicken in low fat or non fat things, oj,dressing etc.) I cant do low carb myself, as I have hypoglycemia and low or no carb would literally drag me down. As far as drinks I hate diet soda so its either water, herbal iced tea with no sugar, or Arizona diet green tea (god that stuff is good) . But I dont drink tons of splenda or I get a headache. I also drink my coffee black and my cappucinno's are done with no or low fat milk. I have pretty much cut butter out now, but if Im feeling like it ill still eat it, its just really moderated. I use regular mayo sometimes, low fat others. Just depends. Right now I have PMS and want chocolate, so I used low fat mayo...lol its all about balance! Also, I hear cantaloupe is good for the wrinkles (The Wrinkle Cure) as is Salmon. Make sure when you buy breads you check fiber more than anything else. I got one yesterday that has 4g per slice. I also do this on breakfast cereals. As far as excersise I hate it but I work a lot around my house and that seems sufficient for me, with some added light weight lifts (just 5lb'ers in each hand etc.) Anyways thats what I can add so far. I am working on my waistline right now, time to get back into my gorgeous clothes. |
Started the South Beach Diet
Lost 3 lbs so far in a week, only cheated once lol.
For those who don't know what the South Beach Diet is, it was created by a cardiologist to help people have healthy hearts, but the patients started to loose a lot of weight. I am going for more of a life style change than a quick fix. The diet is supposed to have three phases....the first phase having no carbs, then adding wheat carbs and fruit back into the diet...and then finally adding everything back into the diet in phase 3 except for white bread and potatoes. I am basically doing phase 1 right now, only at lunch on some days I'll have a whole wheat carb counting wraps. I would rather do it this moderate way, I am not into "extreme" dieting. For lunch I like to have turkey, low fat cheese and wheat wraps or tuna, no bread, but lettuce instead. For dinner...steak, steamed chicken and veggies etc. You are allowed a lot of snacks nuts, sugar free pudding (it's really good), low fat ricotta cheese with cocoa powder in it (it's really really good), string cheese etc. I like the diet so far and really want to loose 15lbs total and make white bread and fries a non existent part of my life. |
