Tell us your dreams.
I made this topic so when anyone has a dream they can describe it to everyone, if they want to, should be interesting. Anyway, here is one I had last night.
I was floating in a lake or ocean, deep blue water, gray sky, can't see anything but a muted blue dead calm for miles. I say "How 'bout we have some fish?" and I hear my friend behind me say "Only if its fresh." So I look back and see my friend Mike sitting in a blue wooden boat, plain looking boat, just him sitting in it, so I say "Ok." Then a fish comes up and bites my hand, but it is a normal fish, so it doesn't hurt that much, so I float over to the boat, and my friend grabs it, but it slips out of his hands and swims away. So then it comes up again and bites me, so I try to bring it over to the boat again, but I keep circling the boat over and over, except the last time I come around I just start sinking beneath the water. My friend can't tell I'm in trouble so I just yell, but there is nothing but silence. I keep sinking deeper seeing nothing but a distorted visage of my friend looking over the edge of the boat, and it just keeps getting smaller and smaller while the water around me gets darker and darker, till all there is is black. Thats when I abruptly woke up, covered in sweat. |
my dreams
I used to have this reoccurring event to some of my dreams, I think the main content of my dreams was different, but at the end I would trip over a kerb stone leading up to a pavement/sidewalk, and I would always wake up moving my arms to save my self falling; I think its was at a time in my life when I wasn't going anywhere, but now I am doing lots of things, and I don’t have them anymore.

I used to have two kinds of recurrent dreams. One when I was very young, about going to school without shoes. This was really horrible, because it was always a test day (in my dream).
The second one happened until my early thirties, when I was in Japan. I would dream that I could fly, but had no control over it, I would start flying and then I would just start losing height, and of course there was always a danger, like someone running after me, and when he was ready to get me, I would recover height. A good psychologist could help me...http://sky2.cool.ne.jp/pl/littlestory/dandy09.gif |
WELLLL if we are talking about long ago dreams, this one haunted me in my childhood. I wanted to go swimming but had no bathing suit. A neighbor told me she saw one in a hole in the park across the street. When I reached into the hole a furry arm grabbed me and pulled me in. My older brother told me that you can change your dreams if you try hard enough, he should know he used to wake up screaming. So I set my mind to changing my dream. The next time the hairy arm tried to pull me in, I pulled back harder. Out came a cute little monkey I took home and made a pet. :D
Recently I just dream about my b/f in Iraq. The last one someone had a web cam up and I could see him sitting on a jeep and smiling. He was talking but I couldn't hear him. I kept trying to communicate with him but couldn't get through. Then the picture blinked off my computer screne. I haven't heard from him in over a month so that one isn't hard to figure out :) |
DH, I have a niece that kept having dreams involving water....she was told that it means she is feeling overwhelmed by something, or she is not dealing with something....that water means trouble or disturbance of some kind.
When I was a kid I had a recurring nightmare about being chased by a giant....as fast as i could run, I was still going in slow motion and the giant would almost get me but not quite, and sometimes I would jump off a cliff and fall and fall and fall but never hit bottom.....Years later when I was in counseling I was told that was a very common dream for children who grow up in chaotic households where they feel they have no power...which was true for me at that time. Usually my dreams mean things or come true or I can always figure them out to be a dream about a struggle Im having. I rarely dream goofy things or nightmares. |
Good thread
I have a dream that haunts me to no end, it is about moving, moving my family, moving my stuff, I end up losing the mailbox keys and I usually end up with 2 addresses, because I am not completely out of my "husbands home" yet. In the dream I call him, It takes me half the damn dream to figure out the number to call and that is only if my dream phone has ALL the dang numbers intact!!!! But anyway a bimbo answers and it is no longer my property....
I have had this dream for 13 years, when I was with my Ex, (just divorced 8/4/03) Guess it came true......... I ended up with 2 homes in feb and march, keeping up with 2 homes and NO keys to my new home, I ended up giving away thousands of dollars worth of "my stuff" and moving out of the family home, beleive me it was easier that way, and I still can't lock the damn doors on the new one, no keys!! But I dreamt of the breakup for years before it happened, ya think I would have been more prepared!! Other than that I usually have Laura Croft dreams, rescuing my family members from strange situations, like gravel pits, basments...........Urgh........... I want romantic dreams!! SwanQueen, yes it is possible like you did with the monster to change your dreams, I quit being a wimp in mine and now I am kicking ***! Now if only I could kick the *** of this "moving" dream crap!!!! PS I am the "fly Queen" in my dreams I can fly from here to Fargo ND with a few flaps, that is if I am not in my turbo rocket plane that tips from one side to the other at warp speed and makes me dizzy! I have weird dreams............ Pss I am sick of having my ex husband being flirty with me in the dreams too!!  |
There is one theme that occours in 99% of the dreams I remember, In fact, it has always been a part of my dreams, like some kind of opening credits or trailer for the main events of the dream! LOL
I dream that I am looking out through my own eyes, like a seperate person trapped inside my own head. My head an eyes r becoming bigger and bigger, as their size increases I am desperate to hide an try to get deeper into a corner, eventually my head is filling over half of the room, and I have the sense of falling through my own head till I am stopped by the lens of my eye. I then veiw the rest of the dream from this position, it is very wierd, like watching a movie LOL....... This sequence seems to occour in most (99%) of my dreams/nightmares, an bears no relation to the content of the rest of the dream or nightmare  I assume it has something to do with the 'dislocation technique' that children develop to divorce themselves from the realities of abuse, this is just the application of logic to the question tho' I have not found any reliable data on the subject |
Old dream
I don't have a current dream to relate but I have one from when I was about 12 that I can still remember to this day.
I dreamed that I was home taking a bath and two boys from school came to my house and came into the bathroom and I was shouting"Get out!" and they were giggling and I was grabbing a towel to cover up. The next day at school (and for a long time..like years) I could not look at them or talk to them. It was such a real dream! I had known them since 1st grade too. I finally got over it but it was really traumatizing! Dreams can be so real! |
