What do you remember?

I know we've done this before, but I couldn't find the old thread. So, I thought I'd start a new one. It's always fun to talk about things we remember from our youth. So, I'll begin....


I remember when gas was 35 cents a gallon and we thought that was expensive!

I remember sitting in long lines at the gas pumps during the energy crisis of the early '70's.

I remember when girls were not allowed to wear pants to our school. It was 1971 before we were allowed to wear pants.

I remember when sodas all came in bottles. At least they did where I live.

I remember when bread cost 19 cents a loaf.

I remember pet rocks.

I remember when most of the movies I saw were shown at the drive-in theatre. Imagine a carload full of 5 kids at a drive-in!

I remember helping my aunt wash her clothes in a wringer washer. I was so afraid I'd get a finger caught in it!

I remember paper dolls. Oh, sure they are still around, but bet no one really plays with them like we did when I was a little girl.
