Thank God I found you all
I am 38 soon to be 39 and dating a 25 year old YM, this is my first age gap relationship with someone younger. I have always married or dated men older than myself but after my divorce I called it quits with men for almost 2 years before dating again. I started dating men my age or older but they just couldnt keep my intrest and I was just getting so disgusted with the whole dating thing.
My little sweetie Tom (we have known each other for almost 2 years)had been asking me out for six months and I always said NO because of his age..finally after hurting his feelings I said yes and then broke the date not once but three times..LOL he kept trying so I finally went and that first date has never ended even 3 months later. Everything is so good except my insecurties about our age gap and the fact I am the first woman he has been with. I tend to forget our age differences until something is said in passing and my age comes crashing down on top of me. I just wanted to say Hi and that I am so happy to have found a place where I can feel so comfortable |

welcome. yep, this is the place to be. i came here FULL of insecurities also, this forum allows you to exlore and talk about your feelings regarding an age gap relationship. your story is very similiar to mine, i did not seek out a younger partner and ran like hell when i found myself in one. let me skip to the happy ending part. i am married now for one year and nearly one month to my sweetheart.
i am 46 and he is 25, these relationships do work, keep coming back

Be encouraged....your age gap is not big at all and common (as far as our comparison statistics here are concerned). Your guy is 25, which means he's out of the transitional-early-20's era....sounds to me like you should relax, enjoy and count your blessings!
Best

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I have been reading the forums and love all the encouragement and intelligence I have seen here. I dont usually spend my time in a panic over the age gap..usually I am enjoying the warm fuzzies.
Honestly what made my stomach turn this last time was age comparison. I usually say or think like 30ym and 43me or 40ym and 53 me..not too bad but he used 70me and 57ym and that made the floor drop out under me....until I thought wait a minute thats 30 years from now. Thank you again for the welcome. |
